Can someone interpret this for me?

He’s trying to say, without explicitly throwing players and coaches directly under the bus that:
1) the offense that can never sistain a drive hurts his defense badly and
2) he probably doesn’t have the horses he needs to run his scheme
Neither of which excuse the fact that his unit can’t tackle and routinely quits but that’s my best interpretation
To run his scheme well enough to slow down the likes of Iowa and Minnesota he needs 5 star players across the board.

Frost didn't have much better luck today with his DC's 3-4 trying to stop USF. At least he was able to get lucky with that kickoff return for a TD with a minute left to win the game..........

My butt does hurt from driving for 3 hours to get to the game. Sitting through hundreds of media time outs then driving for 4 hours to get home....yeah you're right. Just sayin, Frost's DC isn't why they've been winning games and he'll be coming along if Frost comes and be running the 3-4.

No tears just disappointment that once again we'll be starting over and the next head coach will have to deal with another lost year of recruiting that will smack him in the face in year 3 if not earlier. Riley has to go. He lost me with a WIN during the Purdue game. Just as importantly Diaco has to go. They should have never let him on the plane home from Minnesota. I'm pissed that this failure will cost NU millions. Yeah I know they have it but if we didn't have to blow it on failed coaching hires it could have been used elsewhere. It's not a happy situation and your glee for Riley's failure shows your true colors. I hope Frost comes in and blows our mind with how good his team is immediately but I suspect this is going to be a lot more mediocre for a 4-5 years at least than what some people are expecting. I think 8 wins should be fairly quick but beyond that I dunno.

I've posted multiple times that Frost's my guy but people expecting a miracle worker need to realize that he's not going to go undefeated next year and he's going to have teams hang 50 on him. Riley was forced to hire Diaco to start the transition to Frost and his staff so we wouldn't have to endure a learning curve and a couple crappy restarting years.
Frost slides right it and we win 9+ games a year and Frost doesn't get compared to Pelini since he will never have lost fewer than 9 games!

I'm not a fan of the 3-4 but it can be run successfully with guys not named Diaco. I think the key is you have to play fast with it and aggressively. We've played on our heels most of the season.True!
A lot of teams allow 50 points (or 40+) these days.
Hell, tOSU is supposedly good on D and gave up 38 and 55 points in back-to-back games.
With the passing plays today, sometimes teams score in bunches. Look at the Big 12, no defense? That's what we all think. Maybe it is actually good offenses...

The rule changes that have taken place are extremely friendly to offenses. I think they've gone too far but hey if we get the horses and have a DC with a clue we'll be okay. Hell I think Banker could have got us to 7- 8 wins this year.
Team loss - but when BAD offenses like Minny and Iowa light you up - there is something wrong. Effort and focus being the biggest issue - not talent.
We have enough talent to have kicked the crap out of Minnesota and Northwestern. and compete with Iowa and we got stomped. That's attitude and attitude is at least in part coaching. Time to clean house. Definitely keep Wilhite and maybe Parella. JP is not the problem and I don't think KW or DW are problems either but the new coach gets the choice. IMO, he would be foolish to get rid of Wilhite.
Diaco is a good lookin dude who dresses well. Can't help you with the translation thingy though. Maybe that old lady in the Airplane movie who speaks jive could chime in?
Yes, time to clean house. But I do wonder if our games against teams like Minny, NW, and Iowa would have gone better if there was no cloud hanging over the team after the NIU loss and Eichort's firing. Because, despite the professionalism of how Riley handled the season, these coaches could not find a way to keep the players focused once everyone knew this was a lame duck staff
I think fans will be happy with 8 wins after what they experienced this year. Whoever the next coach is and I hope it is Frost, the only thing I really want to see is improvement
Bob is really quite good at coming up with stuff to put a positive spin on anything.. If I owned a car dealership, I'd hire Bob in a heartbeat if he needed a job. I think he has a real talent, it's just being wasted in the wrong industry.
Not sure I am sold on JP, either. Our DL sucks right up there with some of the suckiest DLs in the country.
Diaco would do a lot better in these if he would stop trying to make a point and just give a quick dumb response.
I think that's true to some degree and losing Gifford late and the boat load of injuries we had in the back 8 were killers as well but most of the players looked like they just wanted to get the season over with. I do think that some of the fans'attitude that once we lost to Northwestern there was nothing left to play for was present in the team.
That's the biggest issue right there. It doesn't matter how we line up. As long as we have a prevent mentality instead of an attack and swarm philosophy we will be on our heels. Might get burned deep occasionally but that is better than giving them 8 yds on every play. This staff has coached the steam out of the players. Teaching them that it is ok to knock the other guy down and actually hit the ball carrier won't be that hard for the new staff. I think we have good kids and they're going to love the changeWorks for me.
