Cameron Brown

We just got a CB from Andrew Ellis for Brown coming to Nebraska, too.

I really hope we land him!

I hope he commits again. Does he get double the NCAA Cost of Attendance Stipend with a second commitment? If that is the case...he has discovered a loop hole!! Winking

I think he is ours.. I have no problem with a kid who needs to explore his options but I hope it's more of him reaffirming his decision and not a fact of he thinks there won't be room if he doesn't jump on board now.. the later still keeps it a question mark.

With our recent drought for commitments he will be just fine. Winking

  1. ---Munson spoke with Cameron Brown (now a consensus 4 star) on Tuesday Night. He had heard he was nearing a decision which he thought would be in September. After an OV or two. Munson asked him could a decision becoming in August and Cameron said yes it would be coming up soon and would keep Bryan posted. Munson said its August 8th (thought it was the 7th). Munson said he has felt good since Brown came back and visited for FNL after his de-commit from Nebraska. Bryan thinks he will re-commit to Nebraska next week. Which will give the class some momentum going forward. Ohio State is the other player in his Top 2 (would be more than great to beat them out for a second year in a row for a top WR).

---Big Time OV: Isaiah Crocker (consensus 4-star WR) who will be in Lincoln for the Arkansas State game in week one. He is from Sacramento, CA ( Lived there for three years) and is 6'2" and 180 lbs. Munson said he is a stud on film. If the Huskers land him and Brown and throw in Moore and Allen and Nebraska would have one of the top WR classes in the nation. He has offers from everyone (i.e. Alabama). Incredible offer list! He has become very close to Bookie and Joshua Moore. He thinks Keith Williams will win again. Isaiah refers to Coach Williams as his 'Uncle'. That is how close he has become to coach Williams. They Face-Time each other every day.

---The Huskers are building such a tentacle beat into California that will have ties for years and years to come.

---Bryan was exchanging test messages with Bookie this morning. He asked him about the FL stuff and was anything up that would change his commitment to Nebraska and he said 'no'. So he asked Bookie was he still coming for the Wisconsin game (looking like the big weekend for all the top commits and others are going to try and make)? He said he did not think he was going to be able to make that game but of course will take his OV to Lincoln. Bottom line is may come on a weekend where he can peer recruit a Crocker or Griffith. Moore with Crocker would make sense and Bookie with Griffith would make sense according to Bryan. Sounds like the Huskers are trying to make this sort of thing line up right.

---Consensus 4-star WR Cameron Brown will announce on either 7 or 8 August. Clouse like Muson thinks he will re-commit to Nebraska. After his de-commit returned fro FNL and had a great time. Would be huge for Nebraska going forward.

---Huskers fans do not need to worry about Bookie flipping anywhere else. Tyjon Lindsey is his cousin (they want to play together) he is still peer recruiting hard for the Huskers, has known Donte Williams since he was ten, and his relationship with Mike and Dee Riley is extremely close.

---Latest on Daniel Carson DE prospect from Kansas City is that the Huskers have a lot of competition (i.e. OU, FL and Ohio State) for his commit. However, Nate still thinks that the Huskers are the leader based on his relationship with Coach 'P' and how much he loved FNL. Wants t make his decision the middle of his senior season. Will be setting up OVs real soon. Nebraska if not the leader is at the top of his list.

---Sean and Nate talked about Josh Moore's claims of two pretty high profile silent commits. Bookie has also told them there were some silent commits a month or so back. If its correct you have to think the five star is either Parsons or Hufanga. Only two who have visited Nebraska thus far. Nate would lean towards them having a better chance with Parsons at this point in time (not saying he is a silent). Lot of four stars that could be silent commits. Some chatter that Griffith is a silent commit to Nebraska however, Sean said that one is all over the map. Sean thinks he is looking at Ohio State or FSU. Nate thinks it FSU or the Huskers. Sometimes a recruits definition of a silent commit is not what it really is. Also they are silent for a reason. Some kids its legitimate and they just want the time and place to announce it. Others tell a coach they are coming but I want to take some trips. Thus not solid at all. Which leads me to believe that Brown is not one of the silent commits if they exist.

---One thing they both did say is a lot is going on behind the scenes. On the surface it looks slow but it could not be further from the truth.

We need 4 stars to recommit all year to keep up the momentum. Think that's how it works

I think every since 2013 our first 5 or 6 commits have been 4 stars. The sad part is we usually end up with with that many. This year our first 6 were and we're still at 6. Probably end up with 8 or so. After 2 or 3 miss (like they inevitably will) you end up at the norm of 5 or 6.

Amazing what a 4th star, Alabama and Ohio State offers will do to change peoples perceptions.

To be fair none of the above was true at the time of the first commitment, but your point is valid. Of all the coaches, why do people not trust coach Dub and their evaluation??

I expect him to choose Nebraska and that makes me happy. I like building the Missouri connection, and I really like a WR with top-end speed. What I wasn't a fan of was his decommit and flirtation with OSU. I think a lot of his coming back to NU is that OSU didn't really give him a commitable offer, at least I don't know if it was commitable back then. It may be now, and perhaps he wants to go with the team (NU) that showed him the most love. I do worry if Babb commits to OSU and then Urban comes back with a hard sell that Cameron might listen. But get him back on board now, and I think we've got as good a chance to hold on to him as most of the rest of our commits. Have to keep recruiting them all, committed or not.

My recollection is he had an offer at least from One of them (if not both) the first time as well. I remember morgan747 saying he had no good offers, and I checked and saw how wrong he was.

Rumor going around that Babb may have injured a knee in practice. That sucks for the young man if true.

I hope we get him! Nebraska doesn't back off if the player gets hurt, we stick with the recruit... one of the great things about this program.

Would be great to get him, seems like the kids that decommit, whether they keep us in consideration or not, almost never end up in the class.

I feel like things end up the same way. But, I don't follow national recruiting and the rates of attrition amongst programs. We aren't unique in the former happenstance. But, it's still disappointing...

That was a pretty funny video. I'm glad this guy is back in the fold, and we should be preeeeetty solid at WR for this class unless we get interest from 1 more super-elite dude, am I right? @Tuco Salamanca

Welcome back. Good size. Looking forward to following him this year.
