Cam Jurgens : Pro Bowl Center

If Cam can stay healthy the next couple of years he may become the highest paid center at the time he signs his new contract.

Not all the games. It definitely played a part. No other team would send a center out to start who doesn't know how to snap.
Was it that he didn’t know how to snap or was that he was in to big of a hurry to clobber somebody? He had very bad intentions.

He still has those bad intentions and seems to snap fine. I don't think he had any snapping experience prior to being moved to center at NU. Frost should have started him off at guard while he learned to snap or redshirted him. Systemic problem in this program of thinking details like accurate snapping or special teams don't matter. Rhule seems to have carried on the tradition.

We needed a center. He got him help during the season but it was as if he had the yips.

Cam redshirted his first year in the program. He spent time at both tight end, where he appeared in one game, and at center, where he spent much of his redshirt season. I’m sure he was snapping all over the place in practice every year and the coaches just ignored it and played him anyway.

We were told that he didn’t have problems with bad snaps in practice.🤷‍♂️

Zatecha said his ball position was bad, IIRC that it was in front of, rather than directly under his head. Seemed surprised he hadn’t been taught that. One of many hints that the program was screwed up.

And we’re assuming that there aren’t different snap techniques being taught by different NFL coaches. That said, whatever changes were made helped him immensely.

In his first season as a starting center, Cam has filled the shoes of an NFL legend. Quite impressive. Go Birds!
Pretty cool that a guy just starting his career got to play and practice a year with an all time great and then take all of those lessons and apply them to continue the stellar play of that position.
