Caleb Benning….

Does the 25 number mean anything anymore?
No 25 limit anymore, so it’s just how many you have to move next year. Which, with only 11 seniors means about 15-16 dudes will have to move on from the underclassmen. In addition to the 5-6 that have to retire by Fall from the current roster.
That’s why we should be pretty dang good ny year 2 of the Rhule era.

I think the Bennings want to be able to say that by the time they were ready to make a decision we were full to provide some cover for going elsewhere
We will see , he is scheduled to take his OV in late July during the last little week before the summer shutdown.

If Caleb wants in Rhule will wait, but Rhule is Smart enough to sniff out a snow job. If Caleb takes his OV in July Rhule will get a good feel for how it’s going to shake out.

Not gonna be a guy that wows testing out or just seeing him walking around, but man can this kid play.

Just incredible awareness, instincts, and smarts that make him able to play so much faster than some combine time.

I listen to Damon on Coffee & Cream multiple times per week, and there’s a few things that have stood out to me consistently:

Damon is truly letting Caleb make this decision. Regardless if Caleb chooses to go elsewhere or stay home, Damon will continue to be a huge promoter of Nebraska and Matt Rhule.

If it weren’t for his collar bone injury most of his Junior year at Westside, he’s arguably #2 or #3 in the 2024 in-state rankings, and fans would be drooling over him (like Nelson and the BWest kids) due to the bigger P5 offers he’d be pulling in. Caleb can flat out play, and it would really suck to see him in anything other than Husker red. Even though the clock is ticking, my hunch is Rhule will hold a spot for Caleb no matter what. You just don’t turn away a legacy player of his talent level – especially if Io_a is in the mix!

From what I’ve read and listened to, I’d say it’s between Iowa, Kansas State, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

I am wondering why he didn't take an OV in June. Did he have a busy June schedule? It would simplify things if he could make his decision a month earlier.

I think you can take Iowa off this list. Zero mention of him lately on our boards.

Would you say your program is trending up, down or the same?

If you want to jump in the portal, we’ll allow it. Probably no NIL beers for you the first year though. Step 1, throw out all of that Nike garbage and buy some Adidas.

I don’t think, to date, adidas has sponsored a single team that has made the playoffs and hasn’t had a football national champion in 25 years

23 of the last 24 national champions wore Nike and the other under armour

Damon was out of town and couldn’t be with him was the word. He is scheduled to take it in the end of July . I believe we have a DE coming also that weekend. We will see.

Your right … I shouldn’t have fallen for it ….. but in fairness you baited the trap with such an idiotic take that it was just too hard to resist …

I need to do a better job of considering the source before jumping in … that’s on me

Over 50% of universities use Nike as opposed to less than 30% for Adidas.
