Take this for what it's worth, but there's credible people saying that Butler will be interim DC for the Bowl game. A few reasons including Rhule really wants a strong bowl game appearance. He's not lost on wanting to not just make a bowl game, but to win for positive momentum in the off-season. He wants somewhat of a try-out for Butler to see how things go for him calling the defense (with Phil Snow on board assisting), and Rhule wants more time to find a long-term replacement, whether it's outside the program or John Butler.
