A couple of games leapt out at me that will be relatively important for Nebraska today, while we continue to rest up for the final run:

  1. UNLV @ Boise: Boise loss would really damage their resume. They’re a lot like Nebraska and can’t afford much in terms of losses.
  2. Houston@UCF: UCF win helps us in two ways as we want their RPI as high as possible and Houston is right there in the at large conversation
  3. ND@NC State: NC State loss would move them out of the tournament at the moment, however I’d note that Notre Dame starting to win and they’ll get bubble talk pretty quickly. An ND win here would be good but we don’t want them getting too hot.
  4. Miami@V Tech: V Tech loss bumps them out of tourney and on outside looking in.
There are a few others like S Car@A&M and Bama@Fla where we probably would want S Car and Fla to win but at quick glance I think the 4 I’ve listed are the biggest impact games as they relate to in moving up through the muck.

Obviously the B1G slate holds importance too but you could argue one way or the other on most of those games what we’d like to see. Personally I want Michigan, Rutgers, Indiana, and Penn State to win. I think that would have the biggest impact on making our SoS and remaining games look a bit stronger in terms of RPI, plus getting Michigan into a Quad 1 win is getting relatively close and would be good for aesthetics.
