Brian Kelly

Kelly is the way you earn top shelf jobs

GA - GVSU (D2)
Asst/coordinator - GVSU
Head coach - GVSU -national championship x 2

head coach - central Michigan
Head coach - Cincinnati
Head coach - Notre Dame

That’s a resume ! It shows continued success. Not a one trick pony ! … like Mr Frosty

I know, and it sickens me. Leipold spent a lot of years at Whitewater and as an assistant to UNO and NU, during which time he really learned how to run a program and build a winning culture. He has a process for turning around a team that cannot be underestimated or undervalued. It is so f****** obvious he is the right pick. Within 3 years, he is winning 9, 10, 11 games a year. Run with that for 8 to 10 years and our program is on very solid footing.

Buffalo and Kansas are such awful programs. It is amazing what he's been able to do with them. Undeniable. I want to see what he can do at a place with real money and a real desire to win. So sad how we fiddle f***** around for the last 20 years.
Quick - what’s leopld’s best win as a college coach?

the problem is, once he has done that he'd never have a reason to come here.

its about looking at predictors for who could do that, and Leipold has the best resume so far.
Careful discussing predictors, mr blowout

your track record there is pretty abysmal

if NU is going to get the next Kelly or Urb we need to get them very early in the process

Kelly while at Central Michigan or after 2007 at Cincinnati
Urb after 2 years at bowling green or 1 year at Utah

in hindsight, there was potential to make a run at either of those coaches

in 2008 - Brian Kelly had already been very successful at Central Michigan and had just completed year 2 at Cincinnati and won 10 games in 2007 -- would he have taken the job in 2008?

Had Frank been fired in 2002 after 7 losses - Urban was looking to leave Bowling Green and went to Utah - he surely would have taken the Nebraska job if offered rather than go to Utah at the time
Would he have left Utah after just one year when the Nebraska job was open in 2003? - he went 10-2 his first year at Utah and was named sporting news coach of the year - was he even on the radar?

given the state of the program we aren't in a position to compete with the Norte Dame's, LSUs, USCs etc for coaches - we have to identify them upstream before they get on those programs radars - the problem is identifying the Kelly's or Meyer's while at lower Div 1 schools is like finding a needle in a haystack

Texas, last year. That's the game where one of the shittiest teams in college football turned the corner. I'm going to laugh when they beat them again this year.

And beating a five and seven Texas team is not his ceiling.

it took him 65 years to beat a 5-7 texas team and you claim he's got room to grow?

would you care to make a wager on this year's texas-kansas game?

I'm sure he has a winning record against the spread, mr retard
simply pointing out the fact you have zero ability to predict anything accurately, and therefore every opinion you post is worth less than a shit-coated ass hair

don't shoot the messenger, jeez

We could make a bet that the loser has to leave the board for a year. But that wouldn't have any teeth, wouldn't Rambo?

I always honor my bets

I do not always adhere to board policy

typical deflecting response from someone with zero intention of wagering
