See ya. Not going to hurt at all but will be interesting to see who picks him up.
One of his most overrated recruits as well. I don't know how he was ranked as a Top 100 recruit out of high school. Terrible shooting mechanics, slow, not very strong, out of control/always fouling. Allick would have taken all of his minutes next year anyway.
Is he the bearded wolf man that gets pushed around a lot by real big men?
He looks like he could have been in the movie, “Slap-Shot”. Wish he would’ve stayed though.
Addition by subtraction. Hated watching him play.
He would have been better if he put the foil on.
Not a player we’re going to lose sleep over..But I’ll give him credit he put 100% on the court defensively.
He showed promise as a freshman but simply didn't get any better.
Losing a 6-10 guy who could make an occasional 3 isn’t something to celebrate.
The closest thing to Bill Walton (somewhat looks wise) that Nebraska will ever have! 
"Occasional" is being pretty generous. He shot 20% from 3 over the last 2 years. That's quite terrible.
For comparison, the worst shooter on the women's team still made 25% from 3...and all but 2 of the players on the women's team made at least 30% from 3.
They still had to guard him on the perimeter and it gave us a somewhat athletic big. He was a nice piece to have on the bench. Good luck replacing him.
agreed. the kid from UNM won't replace his perimeter play.
Nobody guards a 20% 3 point shooter who makes one 3 pointer every third game. They sag off a dare him to chuck it, which teams did regularly.

Allick made 29-of-81 of his 3-pointers (36 percent) in 2020-21 and 2021-22 when he played at UMKC. He was 6-of-38 last year (16 percent) at New Mexico. In four years as a college player, he's made 43-of-150 (29 percent).
Breidenbach made 14-of-67 (21 percent) in his career at UNL.
I bagged on Briedenbach early last season, but he did play better during the Huskers’ stretch. Decent rebounder and just enough of a perimeter threat to make the defense honest. That opens up more driving lanes, low post play, and cutting lanes for off ball players. He is/was a quality role player.
The B1G model is 1 great outside shooter and 1 great post. Then fill in with solid role players. When Ninja and Walker were both on fire, Nebraska was a tough matchup. When 1-2 role players did more than what was expected, we were as good as any team in the conference. Very few teams can have 5 superstars at every position. Role players are equally important.
Before Kong rips me, I realize this model doesn’t do well in the NCAAs. But baby steps to compete in the conference and make the tourney first.
I also think Allick will probably be a better player but Breidenbach is the second big body we’ve lost off the bench. Guys that big who can somewhat hold their own on defense in the B1G are tough to get for NU. IF we could recruit more guards and small forwards who could shoot like Steph and Clay then maybe we don’t need multiple 6-10 guys on defense.

Oh noooooo. Athletic big???! He did slightly better than I expected this past season but I expected nothing. I cannot believe he was a top 100 player. Same as most, he was really hard to watch 90% of the time. He was a liability on defense, rebounding and shooting.
I agree that Breidenbach played better as the season went along, primarily as a rebounder. But he was clearly never happy with his role and does NOT see himself as a rebounder or someone who should do the dirty work in the paint. And neither Breidenbach or Oleg were ever capable of holding their own on defense in the B1G.
At times it felt like Breidenbach was single handedly getting opponents into the bonus free throws....very much an effort guy, but overmatched in most B1G games.
No they did not have to guard him on the perimeter. Teams practically begged him to shoot from outside.
Between Allick and Gary, he will be easily replaced.

You don’t wish for guys to leave unless you know you have better players coming in. At this point we have 2 open scholarships at least and few prospects for somebody to adequately fill them by this fall.
The fact that anyone is sad hes leaving shows how bad of a program we are.
Him being here doesnt make our program better, it makes our program what it is.

season will once again be over in January and we'll be saying the exact same things we've been saying the last 2 years
