Just wondering if anyone on here is betting on any spreads or games tonight or this weekend? Any spreads stand out? Baseball or football

I'm a retired gambler, but I still follow very closely.

A) If you don't mind laying odds, I'd definitely take Lester and the Cubs.

B) There is something fishy about Boston College only getting 17 points vs. Clemson, considering they lost 49-0 to Virginia Tech. When spreads don't add up, I go opposite from instinct and I'd take BC + 17

C) Take BYU +6 @ Michigan State. Michigan State doesn't have the same D, not a very solid run game and an unspectacular passing game. The loss @ Indiana was less to do with how good Indiana is vs. how pedestrian Michigan State is.

Take those 3 and thank me on Sunday.

Don't gamble much but saw somewhere that Stanford is 9-1 ats under Shaw after a loss and only favored by 7.5 over wash st.

Reminds me of those guys in weird hats on Sunday morning sitting around talking about their "All star line" & their "Late game line" and their "5 star lock of the year line" all guaranteed winners!!!

I've always felt I had a different idea of a guaranteed winner. Mine is, if I lose, you guarantee to give me my money back that I lost. Theirs is,...well I'm not sure but I think they give you the losers for free, or give you more losers next week for free. Either way, I'm still out cash.

I agree with the cubs bet. I think Clemson will cover against BC. They get out to a quick start it could get ugly. What is BYU's record??

Couple of lines that stuck out to me is Maryland as a 2 point road favorite at Penn St. I think Penn St wins that game SU take the points and Penn St.

I also bet the Clemson game

In the NFL, I have the Pats laying 10 1/2 against Cleveland. Brady will throw for 300 and the Pats will win by 3 scores.

Those are my Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks of the Year...for the week.

I'll tell you about my one successful gambling story, since I don't gamble very often. A buddy of mine was heavy into it, and I was always more amazed at the recorded messages these phone lines had, I thought to myself, how do they do such a great job of making it sound so good, all this information was a LOCK, and on and on... I always seem to admire someone who can bs that well. :)

So I told him I'd go ahead and play the 7 team NFL parlay for 20 bucks. It paid something like 700, if you got them all. I went through the list and looked at the line and made a note of every pick that made sense. I then proceeded to bet on the Exact Opposite of what I thought logically made sense, as it often seemed to me that the results wound up that way.

As it turned out, I starting hitting game after game, and there I was, a half an hour before the 7th game started, I had 6 in the bag. I did the math, and bet half of the 700 against myself on the last game to guarantee a $340 or something payday.

I haven't gambled since... but the opposite theory thing, I use often to this day.

It seems as though after the 2nd half of the MSU game, our defense stole MSU's mojo

Clemson line is now 18 a bit scary. I agree on New England Brady will want to make a point. However I have not seen much of Maryland at all?

Careful taking Stanford....that's a sucker bet imo. Washington exposed stanfords secondary and the last thing you want is a weak secondary going against a mike leach team.

Washington's defense was able to shut down the ball control aspect of Stanford's offense too. I don't know that Wazzu will be able to do that.

I would stay away from that game, unless Stanford got their corners back from injury.

I would take USC and give the 5 1/2 points. I was 2-0 last week. Might be on the second page under "betters"
Boy Colorado has been playing really well and with a lot of confidence. USC not so much.

I'd take Colorado at +5.5

You left out an important detail. Would you have hit the 7 teamer or did the hedge save you?

So I'm 1-1 after points A and B. Props to the folks who saw BC for what they were. Now I'm down to stinky BYU to come out ahead for the weekend.

In college we got what we thought would be the most successful; perceptive group of bettors together to dominate through a weekend on 100% agreed bets and mainly parlays. WE missed on 26 of 27 ( lol, we
really tried ); there were upsets, but you would have been rich doing your opposite theory. I tried to point that out; but that was the end of the group thing, no one was willing to spend more time after that 1-26 result. GBR

Vegas guy on the radio here was saying take Western Michigan to cover over NIU and bet the Bears to cover against the Colts due to them being jetlagged from the London game with no bye week between. Don't recall any of the other picks. I don't bet.

That is some epic sucking there. Wow.
