Nothing will happen , IF ANYTHING, for several weeks...maybe the entire year. But this is a message board and its for talking Husker football, what if's, Monday morning quarterbacking.
Lets assume we win 4-5 games. Not out of the realm of possibility given the product.
Feelings and perceptions aside....For us to get back in the top 15-20 as a mainstay (I'm not even considering top 5-10 and/or championships at this point, but getting on that path)....how do we get there more quickly?
a. Let HCMR and his staff work through this? STAY THE COURSE. Show loyalty, patience....demonstrate our commitment to coaches by giving them time to develop their program.
b. Let go of HCMR and his staff? THE MIDDLE GROUND. Doing something. Sure we cleaned up the culture and media perceptions, but we are just not getting it done on the field.
c. Let go of SE, HCMR and the coaching staff? THE NUCLEAR OPTION. Bring in a new AD and a new HC, tell the new hire this WILL BE the big leagues...we will pay you for it...and we will expect results...soon...but you get contract terms that pay you well, give you security and some compensation if you can't get it done.
