BOR to vote on alcohol at Haymarket Park

Nebraska and NEBCO — which owns and operates the Lincoln Saltdogs, an independent professional team and fellow ballpark tenant — had reached an apparent impasse earlier this month with revenue sharing. At the time, NU offered a 50-50 split on its alcohol sales while the Saltdogs stood firm in receiving 90% of the take, in part because of a similar 90-10 agreement the university has on alcohol sales at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
“The regents were pretty clear — we should at least get 50% of the net,” said Doug Ewald, whose last day as NU executive associate athletic director and chief financial officer was Monday, at the time.

They will eventually . They have to fix some things in the stadium first. It would be impossible to do anything in South stadium at this point in beer sales.
Agreed. There'd be p** dripping from the cement.

Also, I hope they don't sell in 600 level. Those stairs are too steep and front railing too low. They'd probably wind up raising or putting plexiglass up which would kill the view

Good news for all. The fact that the Saltdogs have always had it says it should have happened long ago. The stadium could definitely use some upgrading too. Whoever decided to have Stucco above the skyboxes when Haymarket Park was originally built shouldn't have a job. It's been hammered over the years from foul balls and has a indentations everywhere. The padding around the field is showing wear and tear. It should be red imo. Alot of the buildings could use a fresh coat of new paint too. Off white would fit the Scarlet and Cream theme too. 👍

The last Husker home game on TV Jeff Leise and Larry Puntney were talking about how Husker baseball is the next N line to get some upgrades and new facilities. Football and Basketball are good. VB, Wrestling are good, etc. Hawks field is still nice but it's over 20 years old. Time for a facelift.

I've had out of state visitors remark what a beautiful ball park it is for a city of Lincoln's size.

Alcohol decision aside (I’m for it at PBA & Haymarket, but not Memorial), what the heck happened with Ewald? FWIW, I highly doubt he joins TA at aTm.

It is a beautiful park but it's showing its age cosmetically. Everything just needs to be freshened up. Since the Saltdogs are share the color red in their team colors it would be nice to see more red around the park instead of the mostly green with tan, and whatever ugly color the block side buildings have.

Not just the park but they also mentioned an indoor practice facility for the team when they can't practice outside.

NEBCO owns the park correct?

Wonder if they would pay for any improvements?
