Black Friday Weather

It’s gonna be a battle of the Johnson’s.

Not sure either team has any extra motivation in this game although the Iowa program will always have that chip on their shoulder that the Nebraska program still gets more positive press from the national media than does Iowa. In nearly every broadcast since forever there has been a mention by an unbiased
Commentator that college football is better when Nebraska is great, you never hear the same about Iowa.

This is, however, an extremely important game to Iowa fans. There is rarely a thread on the Iowa free board that doesn’t contain at least one mention of Nebraska. The difference in the two fan bases could not be more different in regards to this game. After the loss to Nebraska in 2022 there were grown ass Iowa fans trying to wrestle the trophy away from husker players. Iowa fans simply are not capable of a rational discussion in terms of husker football.
Before the season the vast majority of Iowa fans were posting or saying that Iowa football would be a CFP team this season and then in the same breath or post saying Nebraska fans were delusional to think Nebraska could get to 6-8 wins.

Iowa sucks, but even more so, Iowa fans SUCK.

We beat down a one dimesional Iowa offense and won't be very hard movin the ball on their D. I said right before the game yesterday that our last 2 opponents are HATED rivals like Colorado and the game yesterday I said we would come out and play like we did against Colorado and look what happened. Same thing is gonna happen to Iowa! Now those chains that have held us down for 8 years are gone and now they can play free without that weight on their shoulders and all hell is gonna brerak loose! Holy cow look at the O yesterday and that was week 3 of Holgerson and his 2nd game called. Wonder what the improvement's gonna look like in Holgerson's game 3? If it looks better than yesterday which I'm pretty sure will, there's a beatdown a comin to the Chokeyes! The O beat down a very good Wisconsin D yesrterday. Iowa is a one dimensional offense playing with their 4th string QB and KJ won't even reach 100 yards rushing. At least Wisconsin had a passing game to mix things up and they only finished with 115 yards rushing! Iowa's OL is weak sauce and the Blackshirt DL is gonna wreck that one too!

There’s a lot to unpack here….

It's truth! While I said we would win 13-7 in a defensive slugfest, my buddy said 56-3 which he was off but 44-25 was closer to that predition than anyone elses. We beat Wiscy down and an Iowa beatdown is coming next week. We will still finish with 8 wins which includes the bowl game. The way we played played yesterday in beatdown fashion coupled with my calling of an Indiana thumpin by tOSU proved our game against Indiana was nothing but a fluke as our ceiling of playing ability is that of tOSU and a game that was ours in their house and got fk'd royally in it with officials intentionally blowing calls all game in their favor. It has all been a mental thing this year and with this game yersterday proved that and people can take their mantra's that we're lacking in talent can shove it where the sun doesn't shine as everyone found out we have talent and have the speed to go with it on both sides of the ball. Sure we gave up a few long passes but that didn't matter and Friday we don't have to worry about a very good passing attack! Johnson doesn't get 100 yards and saying he'll get between 75-80 holding him to a season low. We have the top interior DL in this conference and not even close! The gorilla and the Bear!

For comparisons sake, Iowa had 422 yards of offense on 64 plays against Wisconsin. Nebraska 478 on 72. I wouldn’t classify Wisconsin as a very good defense.

Iowa is also averaging over 40 PPG at home in conference play averaging 118 passing yards per game. Being one dimensional hasn’t been an issue at home this year.

Common opponent tale of the tape

OSU beat you down on your field, We got fk'd out of a win in theirs. Unlike you, we were able to move the ball on em. Look at the stats buddy from both. They bitch slapped you on your home field 35-7 and the final of our game in Columbus was 21-17 and the Blackshirts held tOSU to season lows offensively across the board including 1-10 on 3rd down conversions 64 yards rushing by a combined Henderson and Judkins as well as total yards of 285. Iowa is NOWHERE close to the same level as tOSU, however we are. Our problem this year has been all mental, not lack of talent and now that we have an offense, you're done. Raiola utterly picked apart the 3rd ranked pass D in this conference yesterday and ranks 13th in the country but was top 10 before yesterdays game which is the strength of their defense. Hell, we were so physical offensively, we put out three of their starters. 1 edge and 2 DBs, The other thing, Pancake blocks against them were plentiful and had wide open lanes to run! The Blackshirts DL like they've done most of the year, your're OL is the next to be wrecked!

Ya going to compare Herky’s output against Ohio St compared to Sutterfield offense against them?

Clarkeyes 225 total
Satterfield 273 total

Let’s through out these comparisons with the bath water.

Reminder your boy only had 49 yards against UCLA..

Yikes. First off, both games were in Columbus. Second, I was refuting that Wisconsin was a “very good defense”. Not sure why it delved into the OSU game.

But since you made me look…..Iowa averaged 4.7 yards per play while Nebraska averaged 4.13 against them.

As much as I could twist that and try and be an asshat, I won’t. A lot of Iowa’s offense came when OSU took a large lead. So it’s not comparable.

Bottom line is that Iowa hasn’t had a game where they played two complete halves. I don’t expect that to happen Friday. It’s gonna be a special teams game.

Herd a player or two have opted out these last two games for Iowa
Plenty of rumors for sure. Drama at the QB situation. The walk-on is definitely starting.

Jermari Harris is supposedly dinged up at QB and didn’t play against Maryland. Some say he is opting out to prepare for the draft and some say he is legit injured. CB is a liability with Nebraska’s big WRs. All OSU did was throw jump balls at #8 (who I swear is only 5’8”) for TD’s. Raiola likes throwing jump balls so some big plays are to be had, as long as they don’t hang up into the wind.

They couldn't move the ball on us but moved the ball on you quite frequently and easily to the tune of 412 yards of Total Offense with 203 on the ground to your 226 yards of total offense. We held them is season lows across the board in their house in passing yards, rushing yards, total yards, scoring, 1 of 10 on 3rd down conversions on the same field they beat you down on. I was wrong as yours was at the shoe as well. We humilated and humbled them on their own field, something you guys never had any prayer of doing! That game belongd to us and as the entire nation saw, we got screwed by intentional no calls by the officials that favored them as there was no way in hell they were gonna let Ohio St lose that game.

Sorry but Whifford will single handedly get Iowa’s RB a 20-40 yd run like a Wisconsin long play. Bash me if I’m wrong.
