Before anyone gets caught up in a top 30 class by Rhule, let's all remember Bill Callahan's top 15-20 recruiting classes he had and that was before NIL.

Klieman at KSU just landed a class ranked 30-39, their highest recruitment ranking since Ron Prince, yet they are in the Sugar Bowl this year.

Throw in the amount of time that our current coaching staff had to generate this list of recruits who have committed and signed and this is a good first year. Take a look at Callahan staff and this staff and decide which staff has the better teaching and development credentials.

OK. But Callahan signed the best Defensive player in NU history who also has had a long and successful NFL career.

This is exceptional wisdom and perspective right here. I'm so glad Bill Callahan had the recruiting explosion he did when here because it shows what the expectations should be for attracting top talent to Lincoln. He somewhat struggled in the talent development portion of coaching and was the worst at choosing good assistant coaches, but he could sure identify HS talent and get them to sign NLIs

Things have changed a lot since then - but still

I’d take Cally’s talent any day over what we have. Horrible coach, but at least he brought in Talent.

Yes some really really good players came to play for Callahan, easily the best coach we’ve had since TO

Lol Nebraska struggles in the rankings: " We are going to suck we have no good players. We cannot win without those"

Nebraska does well in the rankings: "well you know those don't matter"

And a stolen Big 12 title that I was there for and am still pissed about!!
Are you talking about thr added one second and subsequent field goal by Texas?

If so, how was it stolen? Didn't like how it turned out but it was the right call. If it was reversed and we got thr extra second, I would feel the same way.

Thanks for the lecture OP, I was hoping someone would play the role of "wet blanket" today.

Not sure what you are fishing for here, but it’s a fail.

Callahan was and is by far 1 of the best Oline coaches in the country.
Offensively, he’s damn near a borderline genius. As an OC, he’s not far behind..
As a HC, he F’n sucked! Talent evaluation was never an issue with Billy C

Blake brought in alot of the players...Nebraska is fortunate it didn't get probation

Comparisons are apples and oranges

It was Blake that closed the deal got Suh to sign. Suh is the greatest DT in modern CFB history 1960 to present even better than the likes of Reggie White and other big names, not just at DONU.

Part that pissed me off about that is time is never (at that point) reviewed.

The thing about that game that still burns me is how the Texas fans reacted after kicking the bs fg. Whoopin and cussing us out of the stadium, I hate those fuks. I often wonder how the trajectory of NU football would’ve been if we win that night.

I will never forget looking up the rules on the Big12 site right after the game, and saw that clock issues cannot be called down from upstairs. I wish I had gotten a screen shot, because when I went to show my brother after he was done freaking out, they took that part off the website. Disgusting
