Not sure if this has already been hashed over. But I was listening to Childers and Neusheisel on SXM on the drive home tonight and Childers was talking about this article in the Cincinnati Inquirer in which it outlined the politics of the Big XII expansion talks. It looks like Texas is holding the conference hostage again, which may lead to its downfall.

"It's believed seven of the 10 schools favor expansion. But Big 12 bylaws call for a super majority vote of 75 percent (so at least eight schools) to make a major change. Texas is believed to be influencing Texas Tech's and Texas Christian's decisions to also be reluctant to expansion."

UT is bullying Tech and TCU, keeping the conference from expanding to 12 teams and having a conference championship game, which would lead to a greater chance of a Big XII team making the playoff and forming its own network, separate from Longhorn Network.

Boren has been very vocal about OU's desire to expand. And if these talks don't sway one of those two Texas schools to vote to expand, well, there could be a domino effect that leads the end of the Big XII to four super conferences, possibly leaving a few Big XII schools in the group of five. Tech could be making its own bed.

Personally (like many on this board) I would love to see OU and KU in the West, adding ND and maybe GT in the East.
