The Big Ten West teams has a lot catching up to do with East that includes Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and now Maryland. The only way we can get some of those big recruits out there is to win the Big Ten West and Big Ten title and maybe some luck. Or does Mike Riley & Co have use a different recruiting strategy for the 2018 and future classes.

I think they are using a new strategy. They just fired the DC, hired a splash hire for DC, and hired one of the best recruiters as a new DB coach.

The East did recruit much better than the West this year. But Nebraska recruited light years better than the rest of the West.

Wiscy looked like they were pretty close to NU as far as the # of 4 stars goes.

We are NEVER going to out recruit Michigan and Ohio St consistently. NEVER.

We need 22 good players to beat them in a one game scenario.

And this is the point. Those 22 are the accumulation of multiiple years of recruiting. My goal would be to reach the level of ten four star recruit equivalents per year. From that you should be able to reach the play offs. I base this on same great work and posts others have observed on the board. It would also put you in the top ten in recruiting over a four year period from this prospective most the time. GBR

They got five. They would have been mid 20's if they had 20 kids sign. They only got credit for 18 kids.

I'll take Iowa in the mid 30's all day. There are a couple stud sleepers in the class. Just need the attrition bug to not hit.

Which players do you consider to be the stud sleepers?

Very competitive there; I think your lines show stud sleepers have worked in the past. For that matter, you have also dug up some running backs that outran their stars.

Michigan and Ohio State have always recruited better than us. And yet somehow we've beaten both teams since we've been in the B1G.

Too bad you guys lost Eno, Holmes and Calloway. Could have been a special group.

My bad....I'm just saying. Develop a couple of 3 stars and we are not far off.

Penn State's QB was a 3 star.

Look at the difference he made.

If we can just keep climbing the ladder each year, I think we can get close enough to compete with them consistently.

Geno Stone for one. I can't believe he is a two star. Daviyon Nixon is a kid that is extremely athletic for his size. Apparently grades were/still are an issues, so offers didn't come pouring in. Brandon Smith is a WR from Miss. he is 6'3". 40" vertical and runs the 110 hurdles faster than the Iowa state record. He is rated as a 5.5 which is the lowest rated 3-star.

What I've learned the past few years is that you don't get ratings from Rivals if you don't go to camps. That's why the star rating is bogus IMO.

I don't think Eno is as big of a loss as the other two. Even after being shown the door, he didn't pick up huge offers. Holmes is probably going to be a huge miss. Rumors are that Calloway wanted to play at Iowa but his "handlers" were looking for money. So he signed in the SEC. He is a big miss because his videos were awesome. A true lock down corner from the get go.

On the Calloway front, his loss meant the loss of Damion Daniels. Or atleast the chance of him. I think he is a great pick up for Nebraska. I haven't seen his senior film but he was a man in his junior year.
