This just illustrates what an uphill climb we have in front of us to catch Maryland. They have two series left against bad teams. If they go 4-2 (probably underachieving) we'd need three sweeps to pass them.

We're a little closer than that.
Three sweeps for us = 18-5-1
5-1 for Maryland = 18-6

Yes, I was only looking at the win column and forgot we technically have 9.5 wins at the moment. Still, 8+ wins in 9 games is probably required. Possible but not easy.

What surprises is that with just three weeks left only Penn St is mathematically eliminated. Even with some teams having just two weeks left.

Michigan, Purdue and Iowa can each get to 18 wins. Indiana and MSU can reach 16 wins. Every one else is limited to 15 or fewer wins. Of course, some of these teams will play each other down the stretch.

I was going to say you missed Minnesota, but then remembered their entire series with Rutgers was cancelled.

By my count, no other conference games have been cancelled to date.

Yeah, Minnesota was absolutely cheated by that. It stinks.

It stinks for Minnesota but I'm pleased. The Gophers were 6-0 with all six wins on the road. Rutgers just got swept by Maryland. Minnesota probably would have started Big Ten play 9-0.

I don't know if it was correct or not, but on the BTN Sunday they were saying that Minny and Rutgers were going to try and and fit the series in some way. ???

Good thing about Iowa is they play to the level of their competition just like we do so I dont see them getting anywhere close to 18.. Losing that series to Iowa pisses me off more than any loss on our record.
