For Nebraska to return to competing for championships, we needed a guy who viewed the job as a destination and nothing less than that. We needed a guy that paid his dues as an assistant and was successful doing so. We needed a guy that had experience as a head coach and was successful doing that, as well. We needed a guy that tutored under some of the best in the business. The fact that he's a guy from a small town in Nebraska and was a successful player here is just icing on the cake.
