Lol nope just realized nobody under the age of 35-40 would have any idea what half these shows were if we didn’t have awesome grandparents/parents subject us to it at a younger age. Old people rock!

Do sketch comedy shows count (kind of a spin-off or remake of variety shows), or do they get their own category? SNL, Fridays, In Living Color - all good shows. Loved me some Carol Burnett, I don't like country music, but did enjoy Hee-Haw.

Agree with The Carol Burnett Show being the best. Strictly for the music, I would give an honorable mention to The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. It only lasted a few years but featured some great musical segments.
