Bengals-Chiefs

Fun game to watch among great competitors on both sides.

Enjoy the Superb Owl

Look I don't have a dog in this fight because my team couldn't even sniff this weekend. But I am questioning some things about this game

Not a fan of either team.

You people complaining about the calls all going the Chiefs way and it being fixed or "influenced", sound insane.

It was a sloppily played second half that could have gone either way. Chiefs are lucky their injuries didn't cost them a Superbowl spot.

That was a tough game to see scripting by the players but the refs stepped in and made sure it was obvious. They hosed the Bengals all game and affected the outcome. Most people can see it, not sure why you can’t.

BS....this is coming from someone that hopes the Chiefs beat the doors off of the Eagles, but any neutral observer of this game can see the clear bias in the officiating towards KC so just stop and enjoy the win.....

It was a blatant late hit, they have to call that even if hurts the team you want to win.
I had the Chiefs in a friendly pick'em, so I'm not arguing on behalf of the Bengals. It was a late hit, but one could argue it wasn't really intentional; certainly not malicious or flagrant. It's just unfortunate to have the outcome of the game affected by literally one call that was so minor.

I feel bad for Ossai - dude was crying on the sideline. 😢

Weird how everyone overlooks that challenge to a no catch KC TD that easily could have been overturned, and wasn't.....and only focuses on the calls or no calls to bolster the fix is in arguments that suits their claim. That no catch that looked like a TD to me would be a way less obvious way to fix the game than some of the claims i'm reading here...

If the refs are rigging games for the Chiefs, next time I wish they would do a better job of it and NOT leave it on the shoulders of a kicker that had been erratic all season, missing more kicks than any other year in his career.

They had plenty of opportunities to lock this one down for KC without having to resort to a 45 yd FG in tough conditions from an inconsistent kicker. They could have easily let KC have TD's on either or both of their first drives (The ref could have called that pass to Toney a TD. And, they certainly didn't have to call holding on the Pacheco TD.) They could have easily let the DPI go late in the first half, letting KC keep the INT in Bengal territory. They did NOT have to call holding on Moore's long punt return in the 3rd quarter; nor did they have to call Unsportsmanlike Conduct on Wylie later in that same drive. They could have easily found a holding penalty on the Bengal's 4th and 6 conversion that led to their tying TD.

Man, if they clowns are going to rig a game - could they at least make sure it doesn't come down to a dicey FG attempt?

100%. That was getting called every time, but there was a blantant hold to start the play which would have offset it. I've got no dog in the fight, but the optics was pretty bad in that game officiating wise.

Here is a video of the alleged hold and a rule book quote on why the it may not have been called

Ratings are important

The Bengals lost the game rather than KC winning it by not punting to the sideline and the late hit out of bounds, which was a legitimate call. The KC hold on the same play was fairly blatant, but I'm willing to let that go since they didn't call a lot of holds on both sides during the game. That being said, losing track of the clock resulting in a fifth down is something that may happen in high school once in a while, in college rarely, and in professional football almost never. The fact it happened during a hugely critical point in a game that determined who goes to the Super Bowl shows this officiating crew was not up to the task. It ended up not mattering much because KC was stopped on the next set of downs, but the result was poorer field position for the Bengals. The call that really chapped me was the intentional grounding on second and seven with 1:27 left from the Bengals 19. It is true the ball landed behind the line of scrimmage even though there was a receiver seven yards away, which is grounding .....but....Burrow was hit as he threw it, which means it wasn't grounding and would almost never be called in most games. The result was third and forever instead of third and seven and led to the punt having to be made from deep in Bengals territory.

Cook was just a little early on the PI that wiped away an INT and led to a 14 point swing and had a huge impact on the game. I’m sure he feels bad.
