This kid was offered a scholarship from Michigan and Wisconsin this week. Interested in Nebraska because of connections but has not contacted him yet.

Your coach apparently doesn't. Oh, I forgot...you have vastly more knowledge than Harbaugh. My bad.
Tell me one interesting thing about his hometown (just wondering if you know anything about the kid at all)

And speaking of trivia...where is our new DC from? Hint...don't google Harbaugh because that is not his name

Urlacher was probably 180 pounds at his age. I am not sure Urlacher ever played at 240 pounds even in Chicago.
I do realize Brian started out at safety at New Mexico wasn't really comparing weight with the two of them, more so the athleticism and the aggressiveness.

Was it the town of the terrible school kid shootings? Seems to ring a terrible bell..

Oh you mean because if his hometown has 3 stoplights instead of 2...and has Casey's pizza available, he'll be a much better recruit?

I'll trust the opinion of head football coaches at D1 programs more than some guy that has all the earmarks of a stalker. Seriously, get an f'ing life.

Yes...he is from Sandy Hook...

And to clarify my post from last night as it was made after a few cocktails...

My concern is that our new DC hasn't adjusted yet to how he can recruit at Michigan. Where the kid is from is his backyard as our new DC has coached at places like Yale, Umass, Uconn and most recently BC.

Conn is not a football state. This does not mean you can't find a player or two there but more often or not they are projects. But they tend to be projects more because of the limited amount of football they've played and who they played against. To me a perfect place for him is a school like BC (again where our DC just came from) where he can learn by playing and by the time he is an upperclassmen be quite a player.

Now this doesn't mean he can't go to a Michigan...sit for a few years...work his tail off and still be quite good. But Michigan will need a good number of young LBers to play over the next couple years (it is a position we are restocking). And the thing is that Michigan can get those type of guys that are more ready and more of a sure thing...which is my point on our DC needs to recognize where he is recruiting to.

So...what you're saying is...this is one of those kids who, if he does accept a scholarship offer from Michigan, will have it yanked away by Harbaugh in January.

Sometimes we forget how great Michigan is. Thanks for reminding us.

Well we did beat out Harvard for the kid so maybe I will have fewer sleepless nights because I now don't have to worry as much about team GPA. Plus, if another team challenges us to a game of chess we now have that covered...well maybe not against Stanford who might have more depth in that area.

You are so right.

How Stanford and Michigan find 85 athletic football playing Mensa members every year is beyond me. Maybe if Harvard wouldnt require their players be Mensa and Giga society members they would do a little better on the field.
