I doubt every recruit right now until they sign on the dotted line. And even that doesn't mean a whole lot anymore.
He originally said he wasn’t announcing until February 1. Good news coming I hope
I know it’s dumb but one of the main reasons I want this kid to come here is so we move ahead of CU in the team rankings. I would LOVE to be able to say “see even in your most hyped state with fu^%#*g Prime Time as your coach you still can’t out recruit us.”
They have added 23 from the portal.

Not overall. Just #1 transfer portal class. And that’s according to On3, not sure how that compares with 247 in terms of respectability.
20%+ of their transfers are from a small ass school and they are ranked #1? Please pass so I can take a hit.
I think transfer portal. Their highschool recruiting class is just behind us, mostly because they got that 5* DB to flip from Miami

They are #1 in the portal, according to one site, because they have 24 guys from the portal and everyone else has 10-12. Their overall class is ranked just like ours.
The obsession some have with this guy is so comical. Like he could really just waltz in and have a #1 class because he used to run fast and is so cool. It’s like the guys that think the Russian bots sending them friend requests on Facebook are real.

No they don't. No one on Earth has their overall class ranked #1, except maybe that Jones guy.

He did in fact recruit a couple of difference makers but I think they’re pretty challenged in the trenches.
Come on... I don't want CU to be good just like the rest of us but it's pretty simple to look at the transfer class he has and realize that's not true.
I'm not sure what to believe, given the following:
- multi-page thread highlighting CU's struggles on early signing day
- one recruiting person (I guess?) saying CU have the #1 incoming class
- daily threads about Coach Rhule absolutely crushing it
- consensus ranks putting CU and NU incoming classes on equal footing
looks to me like bias is at play and is skewing many perspectives, making it difficult to parse
if the classes are indeed similar, and given CU's dumpster fire is burning much hotter than ours, an objective person might say their coach is doing as well as ours in recruiting despite inheriting a much more difficult environment

Rhule would destroy Deion in anything except playing football and baseball. Rhule has won many more games than Deion in coaching.
There is no one saying they have a #1 incoming class, that is compete fiction. They are ranked between 20-30 everywhere, even after their 20+ recruits from the portal
And I guess you can jump on the “Coach Prime” is doing such an amazing job narrative many wish to be true so badly. But despite everyone proclaiming how 4 and 5 stars will flock to CU and all the hype (and purses), he is still recruiting at the same level as Rhule who is just doing it with hard work and some emoji’s.
It’s like so many are convinced this guy is just destined to land all the stars and win big, they are pretending like he’s doing it, even though that isn’t actually happening yet.
CU's incoming HS class (#25 on rivals) has 4 less kids than NU's (#24 on rivals) and a higher avg star ranking
if Prime is recruiting at the same level as Rhule without trying, as you infer, isn't that a concern?

You can spin to try and prop up your hero all you want, but the truth is he isn’t living up to the hype at all. We went from “5 stars will flock to play for him”. To “he is almost as good as Ruble and he doesn’t even try”. Wow, impressive.

it has been 3 coaching stints & 15+ years since we signed as many 5* high schoolers as Prime has signed in 6 weeks while apparently not even trying

All the narratives I’ve heard (here or anywhere) where that “Coach Prime” was going to bring in all the stars. That he would get way more talent than anyone else, because he’s such a big star. I’ve never heard he is a developer, he will get more from less. He was supposed to win by bringing in amazing talent.
So when I see a class ranked #25, I feel like he isn’t delivering on those expectations. But we have so many people convinced that he is destined to do this they are acting like he is working miracles, even though he hasn’t yet. They have a class very similar to ours yet seemingly every thread here has a wow look at “Coach Prime” post in it, even ones like this about a Nebraska commit.
So I guess the question is what were your expectations for him? If you really thought all the stars would run to play for him, you would have to admit that has not yet happened to the degree many assumed it would. If your expectations were to just be better than last year, then he is working miracles.

the only proclamation I've ever made with regards to Prime is "we better beat them"
I just find it interesting and very funny to see two new coaches performing similarly amidst wildly different perceptions (Rhule - exceeding all expectations, Prime - struggling)
All I see is that “Coach Prime” is amazing and setting the recruiting world on fire. But when I look at the actual classes I see 22-30. That is pretty interesting and funny to me.
