Bears making a huge mistake.

....you bring up a great reason to atay the fvck away from him..I wonder if he can play in the NFL.. but those doubts, combined with his dad? Hard pass.
his dad is a Hall of Famer whose reputation has greatly outrun his negative actions/impact

I suspect this will be incredibly overblown, as well

Deion played in the league for a long time and obviously is respected enough to both earn a spot on a network pregame show for years and also hire many ex-NFL guys to his staff

I know who he is....and on top of eveeything you listed he's also the dad who thinks he can tell what NFL teams can and can't draft his son.

He is getting weirder every year...don't want that weirdo anywhere near my team....

..you be OK if Da Bears hired him as their H.C.?

Has anyone mentioned that the Bears could’ve had Jim Harbaugh?

Wasn’t he a former player there?
I was clamoring for it for years. that man is walking "culture".

"Let's give everybody a high five!". I'm so jealous of the Chargers.

this is pure unsubstantiated conjecture.

and even if he did do it, the last dad to tell an NFL team they couldn't draft his son was Arch Manning. before that, it was Mr. Elway.

fair company, all told. and guess what - it worked both times.

not conjecture

I remember Elway, and I remember John himself being his own advocate, not his dad..now maybe they agreed, but I remember Elway and can still remember seeing his interviewes and it sure looked like his decision to me. Good for his dad for having his back.

Far as Manning goes, yeah his dad playead a part, but Archie wasn't a total weirdo who told what teams could and could not draft his son..as I remember it, he had a problem with Chargers, not a third of the NFL

So you OK with Deion as the next coach of the Bears? That be a good hire in your eyes?

it is conjecture unless you can provide concrete evidence that it is happening/has happened.

Archie literally told NFL teams not to draft Eli. and then after one of the teams he said couldn't draft him did draft him, he forced Eli to sit out and held the franchise hostage until he was traded.

is that a "total weirdo" move? I suppose that's in the eye of the (biased because he's trying very hard to make a point) beholder.

Deion has stated that he has no interest in coaching in the NFL, but he would be a sure upgrade over what the Bears have now (just like 7 billion other people would be).

I will take your word on Archie, but since he wasn't a total weirdo i'll also give him a pass.

so it's not a "total weirdo" move for one guy to dictate directly to NFL franchises who his son can/can't play for

but it is a "total weirdo" move for another guy to be rumored to possibly be capable of doing the same exact thing

got it

Yes. Two people can do the exact same thing and it can be viewed totally different depending on context and history

Deion is just rumored to be capable of doing it.

he's not yet done it and I believe has no intention of doing it. but if he does, history says it'll work out for him/his boy.

this post is good context for me, thank you.
