There's plenty of time to complain about Riley's recruiting when it may have merit, on signing day. Actually, more like 3 years down the road.
Look, there's unknowns with our program. Questions at QB, questions about playing style etc...
Our staff hasn't been able to establish relationships as long as our competitors. We are shooting for the stars and trying to get the best. We are going to lose out a lot. And that's okay. It's going to happen.
What we are doing is building relationships with players coaches and regions. Building a brand, a reputation. We are on the minds of a lot of big time guys, whether some of you think so or not.
Nebraska will get better at recruiting as our targets start trusting us to be a team that can take them to the next level. Trust will come, as we get on the field and have some success.(I understand this isn't a given) Trust will come when guys like Gerry, Collins, Valentine, Pierson El, Alexander etc. get drafted and a few of them fairly high. Trust will come when we get a good QB, and we will given our coaches track records.
All we need really is a little momentum and it's going to snowball over the next 2 or 3 cycles. Make no doubt about it, we are a sleeping giant of a program. I am very confident of that.
