BB team in danger of choking vs Long Beach

Playing without bigs because of injury (Roby ankle) and fouls (Okeke and Tshimanga). LBSU hitting layups. Need to get Tshimanga or Okeke back in the game.

Don't worry. Barfy will excuse Timmy and make up more reasons while this is acceptable effort.

ESPNU, by the way. Great start, but the aforementioned injury and foul trouble have really put the Huskers in trouble. If Roby is out for any length of time (low ankle injury), they really need to keep Okeke and Jordy out of foul trouble. Roby is a shot-influencer on D, and his O is getting better. Tough loss.

Thomas Allen playing some key minutes late. This is a talented team, but without Roby, only about seven deep with dependable players. Allen's emergence would help, and a Jack McVeigh re-emergence wouldn't suck, either. NU up 8 at 3:00.

Long Beach only 3-10 from deep. It's the layups we're giving up that have made the game closer than it should be.

We've played
Miles refused to go zone, like an idiot, which allowed them easy buckets.
We did try a zone (without a center), and gave up a dunk. Didn't go back to it. I agree that we should have gone back to it. We also didn't get a lot of calls, which is also something Miles isn't good at (cough, Bill Self, cough). Maybe Tim's not as likable as we think he is. Laughing

Imagine if LB gets a steal on that final inbounds when down 3?
Imagine if Roby hadn't turned his ankle. Imagine if Duby and Jordy could control their bodies enough not to pick up so many cheap fouls. But, yeah, that would have sucked to have lost a 22-point lead. Great offense to get up by that amount, you have to admit.

Yea I’m glad it took LBSU about 10 minutes to figure out they needed to get back on D in the first half.

Either way, enjoy the ride. If things go south again, I'm confident the AD will do what's right. We have some entertaining players on the roster this year, at least. And the emergence of Anton Gill off the bench is a nice addition as well. Take care.

One possession, probably about 9:30 left in game. I could be mistaken, though.

Interesting, must have missed it. I was more talking 1H blowing a 20-point lead watching Tanner's inability to move his feet on the high pick.

Molinari is so worthless.

He said in the post game that he wanted them to learn how to win playing man.....well he almost let them learn how to lose playing man against a crappy team with all of our bigs in foul trouble or hurt. Stupid.

Are you feeling ok lately? You’ve been awfully critical of Miles early this season. Laughing

I try to be realistic and logical. He's got the players now and Jordy, Roby and Glenn have some experience. Allen and Copeland are talented guys. IF we can stay reasonably healthy this year, no excuses. I wish we could have kept the guys who left because they would have provided depth but there is no doubt that Copeland is an upgrade. Miles needs to win with this talent. Will be tough to finish above .500 in the B1G this year but an NIT bid should be the minimum expectation.
