Basketball nonconference schedule

Could be better than most years, depending on who else plays in the Kansas City tournament. I like the home matchup with BYU, even though it's an exhibition. Once the game tips, put that out of your mind and it should be entertaining.

Wish the NCAA would just drop the whole "exhibition" thing and let those games count. What's the point of putting an asterisk next to them?

This appears to be worse. And as a season ticket holder/donor it pisses me off. I know the reasoning. Doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

I have no words. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

So apparantly, you do have words. No one is forcing you to waste your money on Nebraska basketball. I certainly would not. In all seriousness, what do you expect? Nebraska is a historically less than mediocre program and always will be. The majority of their non-con schedule is what it is... a less than mediocre match to their capabilities.

Football is headed down the same mediocre crap filled path. When your teams are good, schools want to schedule and scrap. For example, look at the volleyball schedule.

I see 5 legit possible losses

- Oklahoma
- Two Games: Hall of Fame Classic Games (Kansas State, Mississippi State or New Mexico)
- Creighton
- Winthrop (Finished 101 in the RPI last year)

I would enjoy all these games and not to mention the BYU exhibition

Agree. The schedule shows 11 non-conference games, with 5 of them from P5 level schools or NCAA tournament teams. That leaves only 6 games to fill the schedule. Generally, that is a decent mix of games.

We play nine conference games and 1 team from a Power conference every year. There are only 2 gimme games on our schedule every year.

It’s not an imposing non-con schedule but it’s not terrible. Good enough that it won’t hurt us if we can take care of business in conference. B1G is good enough that you don’t need a top 50 non-con schedule, but you damn well better win “enough” confidence games.

Two exhibition games is even weirder. The Oklahoma game in Sioux Falls should be a home crowd again. Lost to St Mary’s there though which showed the huge holes in the 3pt defense.

Overall, yes it would be cool if it were better teams but I’m not too bent out of shape about the non-con. Most of the schedule is B1G and we can still managed to miraculously implode our way out of the dance at the end either way
