Mike Anderson's squads did something that was awesome: they seemed to know how to protect the plate with a swing alteration for a 2-strike count. Both Jim Rose and Greg Sharpe have talked about the approach to hitting with two strikes, and called it the B-Hack.

Is there a different philosophy that I don't know of with Coach Erstad's hitters, or are they just not as good at it? Or not as good at teaching it?

Also, for all of the internet experts and real experts, when is small ball good, and when is it not as good?

At 2am, I'm a little worried about what I'll see in the replies to this since it might be the first thread I've ever started in many years of membership to this bored. Yes, I know how to intentionally misspell things.

So, tell me all you know about b-hack swings, small ball, and intentionally misspelling words. Grant Winsdstrom is watching.

Thanks in advance.
