Baseball America preseason field of 64

3 B1G teams included
If I remember correctly, BA lists their seeds top from bottom
making the Huskers a 2 seed in the 1st round.
May be a little generous, haven't proven anything yet Winking

Who the heck is Grand Canyon? I saw them playing basketball on TV in late December/early January. Division I just letting anyone in again?

Also, looks like they are calling for Indiana to win the Big Ten tourney.

Yeah, their name has been popping up in places.
University out of the Phoenix area.
Not sure about their basketball program...
but baseball-wise they play in the Western Athletic
with Northern Colorado and CSU Bakersfield, which we know.
Conference also includes Seattle, New Mexico St, and Sacramento St

I like Indiana in that role right now Smokin
Side note on the Hoosiers...
just read that they Sold Out
all their reserved seats for 2018.
Only general admission seating left.
Way to go Hoosier fans!

Yeah, Indiana has a lot of guys coming back (especially power hitters) that could have gone pro after last season but decided to stick around another year. The Hoosier fans I talked to in Bloomington at the tourney were worried about the form their team would take this season depending on who leaves and who stays. Most (if not all) of them stayed.

Among the Big Ten, I think Nebraska and Indiana consistently support their programs much better than any other team. Having a winner certainly helps.

I heard a rumor that Indiana was the only school to put in a bid to host the conference tourney last year. Does anyone else recall that? I know Nebraska didn't want to host because it was hoping to host a regional, but also because they would have had to arrange for the Salt Dogs to move some of their games. They may have already done so in the chance they got to host a regional, not sure.

Something about
trying to get the B1G Tourny to Yankee Stadium (???)
That fell thru.
I remember a couple of versions from there...
one version was the one you mentioned above,
the other version was Indiana won the bid over multiple teams.
But both versions had Nebraska not bidding last season.
All I know, Indiana wanted it.
But checking the Saltdogs 2018 schedule...
Hawks field is free Friday, June 1st thru Sunday, June 3rd
So open for business during Regional weekend...
but not Super Regional weekend, well maybe a double header???
GBR

I'm guessing if we are in position to host a Super Regional, the university will be willing to shell out cash to get the Saltdogs to move their games.
