Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested early Saturday and faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
Legendary Sooners coach Barry Switzer, who perfected the run-heavy Wishbone offense with speedy quarterbacks during his illustrious tenure in Norman, made light of the situation on Sunday with a tongue-in-cheek tweet:
Known for speaking without a filter, Switzer, 79, won three national championships at Oklahoma from 1973-88 and posted a career record of 157–29–4. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
Oklahoma hasn't yet announced disciplinary action for Mayfield.
