Discussion was pretty good, but can't the B1G Network do better than show us the same 6 plays from practice over and over?
no. BTN is just a funnel of cash into FOX's pockets.
they will never come close to ESPN when it comes to coverage.

first point is a fact, and why I believe we will be ultra conservative on offense this season
not worried about talking head opinions 2 & 3, especially from B1G media where elbows/assholes are often mistaken for one another
Sims is 8-15 as a starter with a 57% compl rate for his career and a turnover machine to date. However, I am not predicting that to continue....i'm just reading the stats he has accumulated to date. He also showed glimpses of being a very good QB at times...which QB will we see is anyone's guess. I think you can make an argument that position is the biggest question mark on the team and I also think it's obvious Rhule isn't going to ask him to sling it all over the field. We'll see!!

In college it’s common for QB’s to get better each year as opposed to regressing. Hopefully we can see Sims get better from his first couple of years - good night though I didn’t realize he had 31 TO’s.
Encouraged by the feedback regarding both the Oline and the Dline.
This staff preaches ball security more than maybe any group I’ve watched.
If Sims is giving the ball to the other team, he won’t be playing.

All of the passes will be playaction and rollouts. The rollouts will have Betts running deep and if the safety has come down to help, it will be toss it deep. If not, it will be hook to flats...or tuck and run.
There won't be a lot of pocket passing.

And will be replaced by who ? We don’t have a P5 level backup QB. If sims is hurt or reverts to his interception habits we are looking at maybe 2 wins. Should have pushed to keep Casey or get the NW QB so at a minimum there is some competition at that position.
This staff appears to put more emphasis on the OL and RBs than the Frost era did. The QB depth chart isn't ideal but few teams have a great QB room in the portal era.

You are comparing the success or lack of success of QBs that were not in this system. Keeping Thompson or getting another transfer QB wasn't or isn't going to help if Sims struggles or gets hurt. I believe it will be more like Turman when Frazier and Berringer went down with injuries. A system in place more than a QB centric offense we have seen in the past.
If you haven't been paying attention to the narrative from this coaching staff, they are going to emphasize defense and the run game.
I think our coaches are smart enough to utilize Sims within his abilities and maximize his strong points. Think about how we used Adrian Martinez as compared to how KState used him
Unfortunately we have had a history of being impressed with 1st year qbs and they haven't gotten better most years out of the last 20. I expect that to change IMMEDIATELY. Get a better running game and o line and that helps. Heck our NC teams had qbs that weren't good passers but were effective because of the running game
Figure out a way to get other skill players involved and Sims should hopefully reduce the turnovers. It's pretty simple. Don't ask him to be the offense and don't put him in situations that clearly aren't his strong suit.
IF you can run the ball and your QB can keep a D honest with his run threat, I think you can win games with a middling backup QB. HH and CB both have good wheels. I’m not as worried about our backups having to play as some. It wouldn’t be ideal but IMO we have better bench talent than they’re getting credit for.

Are you a member of that group also? Here's the difference. What was said - when he runs, he doesn't look like a normal qb running the ball, he looks like a big tailback running the ball. The BS you (Redrum/Margot Deeper) are purporting is that he looks like a big tailback trying to play QB. Which wasn't said. If you don't understand the difference, than I can't help you.

Yes, a positive per the running half of a dual threat. But a dual threat will typically not be "Elite" at both passing and running. The context can be interpreted as Sims is a better runner (due to physical attributes) than a passer. Their saying in a nice way his talent is proportionally running the ball, again, due to his physical abilities.
I look at Sims positive attributes and expect the coaches to coach him out of his bad. I see an elite talent in Sims that just needs to be coached up.

I think he can excel as long as we don’t put the whole team on his back. That’s the beauty of a good running game. When those dudes are moving the chains, it takes off a ton of pressure.
Then, when he’s making the easy throws, he will look like a stud. Rhule fully intends on out working his opponents.
hopefully he doesn’t have to run more than 8x/game. That will still probably be 10% or more of plays in a huddle offense
I think you are reading way to much into the comment. It was clearly about his size and body type, nothing more nothing less.
Yeah my number was exaggerated.. but need a qb that will tuck and run for 4 yards and first down rather then throwing downfield into coverage
