Looking at attendance numbers from televised 2016 BTN games...
- Illinois Home attendance quadrupled after an early BTN home game and grew from there.
- Indiana hosted 2 BTN games. Both were Sunday games. Both games filled seating capacities.
- Iowa did not find any listed BTN Home game (a lot to BTNplus)
- Maryland was supposed to host Ohio St. on BTN on a Friday but weather moved the game. Home attendance rose for most of the remainder of the season.
- Michigan hosted 2 BTN Home games. The first game reflected their season average. The other was a well attended rivalry game.
- Michigan St hosted 3 BTN games. The first one was double their average attendance. The other two were mid week games, in the middle of the afternoons, which were understandably attended under season average numbers.
- Minnesota hosted 1 early season BTN conference game. Gophers attendance numbers grew from there.
- Nebraska hosted 2 BTN games. The first was a Tuesday night rivalry game highly attended. The other being the final regular season conference game, highest attended 2016 B1G regular season game.
- Northwestern hosted 1 BTN game. Top 4 attended Wildcat game in 2016.
- Ohio St hosted 1 BTN game. Attended well above their season average.
- Penn St hosted 1 BTN game. 2nd highest attended Nittany Loin game in 2016.
- Purdue hosted 1 early BTN game against Top 10 Louisville. Boilermakers hung tough for most the game until the Cardinals broke loose.
- Rutgers did not find any listed BTN Home games.
There's a lot of things you can do with these numbers.
But the main reason I did all this...
Is to Thank all the B1G Baseball fans out there.
And to make everyone else notice...
We got something building here.
There is some crazy B1G Baseball fan bases out there.
B1G averages 861 baseball fans / game (without Nebraska)
1,184 fans / game at full conference strength
