B10 West Rankings

The true winner of the big ten west is the team that finishes 2nd and avoids being brutalized by the east champion in the big ten championship game

I Guess If You Say So GIF

So bad.
The fox people are begging wisky to win out for some sort of ratings for the bloodbath “championship” game.

Who ya got?

This is not easy,

1. Wisconsin
2. Iowa
3. Nebraska
4. Minnesota
5. Purdue
6. Illinois
7. Northwestern

We are getting better each week, and playing hard.

Might only need 5 conference wins, but probably need 6. 5-1 the rest of the way.
Assuming MN loses again….Nebraska essentially controls its own destiny.

Would be awesome to see that continue into November.

Based on what I witnessed in the Maryland-Ohio State game I'd take the Terps over any west team on a neutral field. Probably by double digits too... and Maryland is likely the 4th best team in the east. Lol.

Yea get anopther beat down by MI in the Championship game. Yay.

Don't get me wrong I would take winning the west any day. Just sucks to then get destroyed on TV again.

You never know maybe Michigan has an off day and PSU wins the east and then Nebraska makes it competitive in a championship game. Might as well dream since it’s not happening either way. Rather win the division still though.

think of what that means. beating Wisconsin & Iowa in the same season would be huge for Rhule's first year.

it's hard to beat a team twice, and I have to think that coming off of the momentum of hypothetically winning the West, Huskers fight a little harder and keep it a little more respectable than last time.

utah and colorado replace them. it's not like northwestern and minnesota.
Colorado is like Northwestern. They both only had 1 win last season. Colorado vs Northwestern in the toilet bowl.

Utah is a good team but they are not on the level of Texas and Oklahoma.

texas hasn't won a b12 championship in a decade. with them, you're all in on 'name,' not performance. it's illogical but fact, their name means more than their results. utah would have curb-stomped them throughout that period.

This is true. Haven't won the conference in 13 years and have only won 2 in the last 26 years.

Michigan is getting to be a myth. If we could have thrown over the top of them or had any kind of running game and line, we could have given them a game. Few teams are as in the hole as Nebraska is right now.

In 2019, Texas beat Utah 38-10 in the Alamo Bowl. Utah was the one who got curb stomped.

moralvictories fits you well.
Whatever, my point still stands. Utah's success in recent years was mainly due to the fact that USC and Oregon have been down recently. Utah tends to lose against good competition. They might win the Big 12 their 1st year, but the main reason for that is because none of the rest of the teams in the Big 12 are good.

obviously, texas doesn't benefit from the same fundamentals being in the weak b12 they have won nothing over the past decade, zero.

Texas has to contend with Oklahoma year in and year out and most of the time Oklahoma wins that matchup.

Remember when the dutiful Big Ten fanboys used to deride the PAC-12 as a super-soft conference that really wasn't even Power 5 anymore?

Now that's still true, unless they're talking about the PAC-12 teams that are joining the B1G. Those programs are suddenly juggernauts.

Not only that, but Utah's success has come at the expense of a bunch of bad teams, all of which suddenly became good when they agreed to join the Big Ten.

Funny how that works.
exactly. the way most of the people around here act, you would think we were adding Alabama and Georgia to our conference.

Utah lost back to back Rose Bowls. Last year, they lost to the 3rd best team in the B1G, Penn State. The year before that, they lost to the 2nd best team in the B1G, Ohio State. Even in Utah's best years, they would only be the 3rd or 4th best team in the B1G.

I don't really have a dog in these fights but non-playoff bowl games are a joke. Good players don't play more than half the time

And yet the Utes are the two-time defending champion of the conference that's supposedly bringing an entirely new level of greatness to the Blowhard Ten. If Utah was joining the B1G instead of one of the other four, you would be shouting from the highest mountaintop about how great they are.

USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington are not easy wins like Rutgers, Northwestern, and Indiana. I would say that they are a step above teams like Wisconsin, Iowa, and Purdue. I don't think the new teams will dominate the B1G but they certainly won't be pushovers either.
