Johnm17-- I'm pretty sure Title IX gets involved automatically due to federal law in these situations. That's how Mizzou got into trouble with some of their investigations-- they didn't get Title IX involved. I'm not worried about that. CSabatka1 is correct. Tommy may have not been aware there was an alleged crime until the cops questioned him later when the allegation was made, and by then the reporters may have been right on him. I'm not discounting any possible crime or necessary punishment here if there was a crime. I just don't think based on what we know right now that there is much to worry about as far as UNL or the players involved are concerned. Too bad the press ran with this, printed all this information, etc. instead of waiting for facts. That is our media these days. Don't wait for the facts. Just be the first one with the story.

Totally get that. Was just responding to the poster who claimed the press needed their credibility questioned for this.

Not that I like it, but the press was just reporting the news. It didn't look like a hatchet job to me, they clearly stated Tommy and Jordan were not suspects... The person identified by the woman to the police was also contacted. Why did the press need their credibility questioned?
