Apparently Doc Sadler is living in a van

Glad Tim is having success. Pretty clear he had hit his ceiling at Nebraska and it was best both parties made a change.

It was probably that Miles had hit his ceiling with Moos as the AD. I wonder what he would/could have done with Alberts as the AD. Someone who appears to have a clear vision of what it takes to compete in the B1G and then being able to execute on the plan. Miles had some history of being able to bring in transfers, they just happened to be transfers better suited to a different conference.

If that is a Winnebago Boldt, which I think it is, it is a $245K van with a bathroom including a shower. No medical or Mountain Dew piss bottles required. If you read all the retirement blogs, camper vans are the latest rage. People either go full on hippie and live in them, or people of more means drive them to and from resorts. Saves the BS of having to fly, you get to see the countryside driving to your resort, and when you get there you have wheels if needed without having to rent a car.

I probably wont have a rig that nice, but I plan on living the van life in a few years when I retire. I have slept in my pickup enough times while on roadtrips that sleeping on an actual bed in a van will be nice. I plan on outfitting it with a bunch of niceties so it will be like an bare bones apartment on wheels. Best case, have the option of not having to plug in and just boondock it on a bunch of occasions.

I'm not a full timer but I've had a van for a few years and have loved using it for weekends and random trips. You definitely don't need $100-200k to build something functional. I put about $8k into mine and have a bed, kitchen, solar power, etc. My only regret was not spending the extra money to get a ford or benz, the ram has been nothing but maintenance issues.

Who could have imagined back then that some day people would be spending a quarter of a million dollars on the modern version of these.

Met Doc twice… liked him both…. He was with Fred when Fred offered Gradey Dick in his sophomore year… Doc seemed very down to earth

Takes a special cat to return to a place that fired you as head coach as a lower level assistant

Could you imagine hiring Pelini as a LB coach or Frost in a few years as an analyst
