On the addition of a 10th full-time assistant possibly being delayed to January:

"That wouldn't be cool, because we've got a heck of a coach here, Tavita Thompson, that we have earmarked for that spot. He does a great job with the tight ends, and hopefully that does get approved in April, and we're ready to roll."

-Billy Devaney

Just got done reading it and came here to see if anyone had posted on the topic.

I don't recall who (there were a few I believe) that said it would be TT, but myself, I doubted it, before and after the rumors of TT going to somewhere else, like Utah or BYU or somewhere around there I believe.

If anything, the comment by BD makes me think that TT was going to go to another school, but they told him that he woul dget that 10th assistant spot to keep him on board... hence the reason that BD said "that wouldn't be cool" if they delayed it until January.

I have zero insider information. All my info is from what I get from public articles and this board. I appreciate any insider info posted on this board. Thank you to those who share the truthful insider info.

With that said, I have been reading on this site since I was in college (so around 2003 or 2004), but I find that 90% of the time I read comments and don't pay any attention to who posted them (whether because I scroll past the name to read the comment and don't scroll back up often). Therefore I don't know who posts the most credible info besides the ones everyone says are credible, so I am doubtful until I see something in an article by a journalist on some things.

I catch patterns in comments and sometimes know who they are by the way they type (which is why I suspect HTO is on here using another name, but I am probably wrong on that suspicion!).

So mark me down as one of the doubters on this topic until I read the article with BD's comments.

I just got down to the QB competition part. It says that it is going to be a battle between TLee and POB until August as they will have to chart every throw.

So does this mean that some posters were right claiming TLee is the man?
Does it mean that some posters were right claiming POB is the man?

I am in the group that thinks TLee has the advantage due to playing experience.
I am also in the group that is excited as hell that POB might be the real deal.

Wouldn't it be nice if we actually hit gold on our QB recruiting not only once, but twice within a few years?

With all of the drool over TLee from a couple different players and Husker staffers in the last 8 months, it actually excites me to hear that it is a tight race and POB is neck and neck with TLee.

I just hope it is because they are both good... not because they are both bad and the old saying of "if you have 2 QBs, you have no QBs" fits the issue.

Little Birdie told me HTO = coachDUB

When Rafdal committed to NU he made a statement that included comments concerning Coach Thompson's recruitment of Rafdal. This led me to believe that the only thing left to do concerning the 10th coach was making the formal announcement. I will go on thinking that way until I hear otherwise.

They'll figure out how to take care of him until it is official. No big. Speed ;bump...not a train wreck...

One thing I like about Billy Devaney, is that he doesn't end up with quotes in the media that often, but when he does, it is always positive.

Exactly who I thought because of the manner of confidence within posts, choice of words, and the amount of time spent/comments on the website on most threads.

I am okay if it is not common knowledge and these posts about it are erased.

I do recall some comments made by him that gave me this idea as well.

I found this interesting because I always look at the name of the poster before I read posts in a thread. There is no reason really for me to read posts by posters who repeat the same mantra depending on the topic. I can tell what they are going to say before they say it. I always read the posts from posters who occasionally surprise, or have interesting POVs most of the time. And then some posters, like c2o are gold and their posts need to be read by all.

There were radio reports that a committee is recommending they just allow the 10th hire now. Said its going to be disruptive to some degree no matter when they allowed it. I believe the speaker was the commissioner of the Big12, and the head of this committee. So our tight ends coach will hopefully get a check soon ( and hope he is learning to help with the O line ).
