We looked pretty good in the second quarter. But
Gutless OL when we needed a scoring drive to win, or at least a few first downs.
Turnovers. Big drops.
Poor clock management at the end.
And a new Freshman Phenom QB who doesn't make it through one whole game.

When you go to make the big hit to look good, you make a bad decision You put yourself ahead of the team. Yes, we had dropped balls but this play will be the play of the game.

Yeah it was beyond stupid of them to be leaving time on the clock while nursing a 1 point lead. I don't care what your "identity" is, have enough manhood to snap the ball with 1 second on the play clock and believe you can still play football like a big boy. Go block and tackle.
You don't run the clock with a 1 point lead with 5 minutes left. They needed to keep moving the chains in that situation but that's hard to do with the penalty. Running the clock would have just left us less time to come back when they scored.

Play calling and clock management in the fourth quarter with the lead were also huge factors in the loss. Adjust your tendencies as a playcaller to make sure you get the win and start the new era of Husker Football on a fabulous note.

Who will ask SF those questions at the press conference? Winking
How would you have managed the clock better? We had a 1 point lead. That's not enough to be running the clock out when all they need is a field goal for the win.

We were snapping the ball with around 15 seconds left on multiple plays on the clock. We weren’t forcing Colorado to use their timeouts.

Go back and watch the last 9 minutes of the fourth quarter with 2 offensive drives and tell me there were multiple plays where Nebraska could have used more clock by running down the play clock.

Of course you can be aggressive but milk the clock at the same time.

Go ride the pine. Cost us a W.

The kid was trying to make a play with his back to the quarterback. He was playing physical and trying to dislodge the ball had he caught it. He didn't cost his mates a game. There were plenty of mistakes all around. We saw seven sacks by the defense. Talk about that.

And what good is milking the clock going to accomplish with a 1 pt lead? Just gives us less time to come back if they score. You need to have at least a 3 point lead if running the clock out is going to do you any good.

We will agree to disagree...hope for a win next week.
