Anthony Grant appreciation thread. #6 rushing offense in nation!!

he's fine

Haarberg is by far our best player

we'll go as far as he takes us until 2026 when he graduates.
Literally you 2 days ago: “Grant is limited”

Why anyone ever thought he wasn’t by far the best back on the roster is beyond me. Been saying it since before the spring game. He’s durable as shit, extends nearly every play with both finesse and punishment. I’ll take one, even three fumbles a year for him to be the full time starter. It was never even close.

Kong, you whine about others on here not admitting they were wrong and here you are being a giant hypocrite, to no one’s surprise. I admitted I was wrong and am happy as hell HH proved me wrong as I said I would be after the spring game. If you’re gonna take the victory lap on HH against two G5 opponents, then you must eat the same crow on wanting Grant “kicked off the team” after week one. Otherwise you’re a worthless hypocrite with zero integrity. The guy is flat out shitting on your face right now, and is only stopped by a weather delay.

I don't think grant will lead us to wins by himself this year

too much east/west, not sure how he is in the passing game

certainly not much of a playmaker without a mobile QB taking the defense's eyes off him, as evidenced last year

could be wrong. don't think this is hypocritical at all. Kid cost us the game week 1 and owes us a win all by himself.

Today is not that day. Score would be identical with or without him.

The simple thing is hit the ignore kong, he does have a couple good points but especially during the season he is intolerable

nobody posts more about me than this guy

my opinions really rile some people up, I guess

First off: Learn when not to start a new paragraph, but maybe you think your posts deserve a whole page of a thread to themselves.

Second: That’s an opinion, not a fact 😉 (your oft-used useless rebuttal)

Poor bastard will be beaten like a used rug before the season ends. I feel for you man.

Don’t know how you can reconcile this with the fact that he wasn’t played a single snap against Colorado

Grant's undoing was his own fault. The latter half of last year he mailed it in. Most of his yards last year were against schedule-O- wins. In the latter half of the season he just danced around avoiding contact.
This year is starting eerily similar. Against Minnesota 9-27 rushing. Colorado, no carries.
NIU and LT he had 181 yards total. Those are middling non P5 opponents.
Before we anoint him the Roger Craig award I'd like to see him bring it in a meatball game and not end up with 20 some yards rushing. Have a real impact. And yes I realize the OL is third world and everyone else is hurt. But I'd like to see some real intensity and effort next week and from then on. We need him to give his all.

Last year Grant had over 900 yards rushing, which sounds like a reasonably good season but nearly half those yards came in the first three games against poor competition.
After that he wasn't of much help with the exception of showing up for the Minnesota loss.
In short, at best he's been ok but I don't foresee our offense really depending on him in some late season brawl.
