Another reason to not automatically believe the 1st thing you hear.

6'9" 230 lb. Bragg acted in self defense.... musta been a huge girl friend
Did you read the article? If all he did was push her after she repeatedly slapped and hit him, I'm siding with him, especially since she clearly lied according to the video evidence.

Where is it written that the size of the people involved is a factor? The smallest person would always get off.

I assume the implication is he got off because he is a basketball player at KU. The evidence in the article seems to indicate they gave her the benefit of the doubt first and when more evidence came forward he was exonerated and she was charged. I agree with the thread title, don't believe the first thing you hear. There is usually more to the story.

Lucky for him there was surveillance video. Otherwise, most likely he would have stood charged and probably would have been suspended for the rest of the season at least, since trial wouldn't be until at least spring, most likely - and even then it would have been a crap-shoot whether a jury would have believed him or the girl friend, unless she came clean on her own at some point. And even if charges had been dropped due to lack of evidence, he would have had the cloud over him and the KU council on student conduct or whatever its called would probably have kicked him off campus.

Where's the media reporting his exoneration now? ESPN, USA Today? Come on guys...you ran scrolls at the bottom at your screens like this was a national emergency. Man up and tell everybody, via the same methods, that he has been cleared. I'll be waiting (knowing full well that ain't gonna happen)...

This gal better run her little fancy tail right out of Lawrence. #1 hated person in that town.

Once again, Self handles it like a master. There were some pissed off folks this past week when he was allowed to sit (in street clothes) on the bench for the KU/NU game. Turns out that was the fair decision at the time. Scary how many people haven't had things like this go their way in similar scenario's...

FWIW this is gonna turn this kid's play around. He has major potential...and an event like this may help him focus in on basketball even more. He has a ton of potential.

Dropped charges after officials reviewed videotape of Bragg's play this season and realized he was incapable of being physical with anyone.
