Lucky for him there was surveillance video. Otherwise, most likely he would have stood charged and probably would have been suspended for the rest of the season at least, since trial wouldn't be until at least spring, most likely - and even then it would have been a crap-shoot whether a jury would have believed him or the girl friend, unless she came clean on her own at some point. And even if charges had been dropped due to lack of evidence, he would have had the cloud over him and the KU council on student conduct or whatever its called would probably have kicked him off campus.
