What if Byrne had hired Childress instead of Anderson? I don't think it was a huge secret that some of the success NU had under DVH and the one of the reasons Anderson continued that success for a little while is because of Rob. He's of course coaching the #1/1/2/4/5 (depending on poll) team in the land today and
I'm personally of the belief that he hired Mike because he wanted to take Rob to aTm, I truly believe that.
But what if he had hired Rob @ NU? I think he would have killed it here, and he still eventually would have gone to aTm but it would have delayed it a while and we'd be in a better place today at least. Also, are Rob and Mike friends? Would he have cut Anderson loose if he was in charge?
That's just a random thought I had today as I think about the past decade and a half of NU baseball.
