Is Amy Williams a good enough coach for the top tier of the big 10? This year has been a huge disappointing

She’s a good coach, but there’s something off with this team. I don’t think all the personalities are on the same page.
I agree but I’m starting to have my doubts she’s good enough to be in the top tier just can’t get the better recruits

Didn't they make the tournament last year? I would think as long as they make the tournament every few years, her job is safe. Women's basketball is the biggest money-losing sport in college athletics, as long as they aren't completely terrible, that's good enough.

Give girls some credit, that was a very good team and even Clark wasn’t sharp till the 2nd half and the gals couldn’t hit a shot in the 2nd half to make it competitive..

Coach Williams is a winner. The above poster has a point when mentioning cohesion of personalities. I coached girls on a much lower level for years. 80% of what you get out of ladies basketball teams has to do with buy in. Its clear not everyone is completely bought in. If she and her staff build around Markowski and find two shooters to to with her, they'll be a tournament team. You can guard two, but you can't guard three. They don't have three to guard at present, so they are an average B10 team.
Women were 11-3 before Christmas, having beat some ranked teams. They lost Weidner and have stunk ever since. Rarely see any passion or energy. Markowski lit it up last year and she has not looked good the many times i have tortured myself by watching them. Jazz and Haiby have mostly underachieved. Something tells me several of the women don’t like each other.
This team is hard to figure out. They should have beaten Indiana on the road, then a few days ago lost to a terrible Minnesota team. They're playing really sloppy, slow and discombobulated now. Seems like they've lost confidence. Maybe some players are at odds?
Here is the absolute truth, we fired a pretty damn good coach and replaced her with a less than average coach.

On her way out she said the claims by some of her fellow teammates of mistreatment, were bullshit. She said they had a group of young players who didn’t like being told what they were doing wrong and being made to work.

Losing Lea Brown was huge. I had a friend who coached college women’s basketball. He had some interesting comments about what it was like. Lots of drama and he said it seemed like they all got synchronized and had their periods all in the same week.
There was more to the Connie Yori firing than you are revealing.
There’s a reason Romeo stuck up for Connie. A very good friend of mine’s daughter played for Connie at Creighton. Connie is a crappy person.
That’s fine, my generation grew up with coaches who were shitty people and were hard on us. If we went home and whined about it, our parents told us to suck it up, they didn’t run to administrators and cry about their children being mistreated. Many of the winningest coaches have been the biggest assholes.
My sister and my ex-fiancé played for one of the winningest volleyball coaches in the state, she won 3 Class A titles. To a girl, each one of her players would have told you she was a cold bitch and mean as hell. I can attest to this, she taught one of my classes. But every one of those girls would have told you that she was a winner and taught them how to be tough and compete. When she resigned some years back because some parents complained that she mistreated their daughters, my sister and her friends said these kids today are too soft.
So Connie may be a crappy person, but she was a winner and Amy Williams is not. Young people today are softer than baby shit.
My late uncle followed the Lady Huskers closely. His analysis of Amy Williams "She's a division 2 coach who recruits division 2 players." Connie was a much better coach than Amy ever will be.
Ad I said before Coni yori was not fired just because she was hard on players.
My sister was a three sport athlete in high school and went on to play basketball in college, not at UNL. She has always followed the Huskers though, her and my mother used to have Season tickets to the women’s. They weren’t thrilled with UNL letting go of Connie, but they kept their tickets for a few seasons. Finally stopped buying them a few seasons ago, said the product was garbage.

Nope. Just old and I know a lot of former athletes. The player I’m talking about lives 2 blocks from me. She really liked Coach Flanery and has stayed in touch with him. Flanery has been “encouraged” to let Yori hang around his team. I watched her play from the time she was 14 and went to some Creighton games with her folks. Sat behind their bench with team parents.
So, basically you are saying that today’s parents are the cause? Kids have always been the same, they try to get away with as much as they can. It’s up to the parents to change that
I like Coach Williams and she recruits some very good players. With that said, this year certainly has been disappointing to date.
Frank was far from being a legend in coaching
Why can’t the whole story become public especially if certain people besides the administration know
