Am I the only one not sold on DR?

Eh... Maybe? I think we lack the alpha players. If we had a Cam Skattebo or a Travis Etienne what does our W/L look like? Easily a couple games better. I don't think we are as far away as you think we are. We won't agree on that, but I like our O next year outside of the RB position and probably a couple of OL. D needs some work, but similar just a few pieces and those can still potentially happen in the portal. Schedule is also going to be a big factor and ours sets up pretty well.
Day 1 & 2 draft picks tell the whole story

We have maybe 1 in a couple years (DR)

Playoff teams have multiple every season

They don’t even participate in the same sport as us

After watching Stockton last night, I suspect Georgia wishes Dylan had signed with them.
Pretty tough spot for a kid to start his first game. Hell, it’s a hard spot for experienced QBs. I think he did alright. Him not stepping up in the pocket and his awareness cost them some points but he threw a better ball than Riley. ND was great at containing his run

He had a very good year but he looked downright awful at times

I’ll agree not all of it was on him (OC, line, WRs) but I just don’t see a great QB right now

The 2 slides in the 4q yesterday were really dumb
1 late just asking for an injury
1 early when we need a first down to ice the game

I will say that this was the first season in a long time that 3rd and long didn’t seem like an impossible task.
Well whether you're sold on him or not, he reportedly has been offered $12.5 Million in NIL money to leave Nebraska and enter the portal.

I agree with you as far as we need to get better players, but I have also seen great teams with draft picks all over the board not perform as well. I think the good news is Rhule seems to have decent team chemistry. I think if Key and DR have a good year this year that Key is probably a Day 2 guy potentially. DR will be drafted unless he regresses. I think Jenkins could get drafted Day 2 or better if he moved to center and there may be a couple more potentially. So I agree that we need the influx of talent, but I just don't see the Big 10 as this massive juggernaut right now either and our schedule is decent next year.

If we knocked off either Penn St or Michigan there is a path. Now we are talking NU football so we probably know that isn't going to happen, but man that schedule as of now looks light and Penn St and Michigan are not juggernauts either.

Huh? If the B1G isn't a juggernaut right now, which conference is? And if Penn State, a final 4 team in the country, isn't a juggernaut, which one is? Michigan had a better record than us and finished really strong. Minn, USC and Iowa all finished better than we did. Two of them beat us this year and we didn't play the other one. Michigan St and UCLA had the same conf record as we did and UCLA beat us head to head. Sorry, but I'm not following your logic at all here.

No the B1G is not a Juggernaut. Everyone you have listed is beatable. You don't have to follow my logic.

Penn St - They scare no one and have lucked out to have a pretty easy path to where they are at. Allar is junk and I'm pretty sure their main weapon in the TE goes pro. They are good in the trenches, but lose a few of their best defenders.

Michigan - Lose a ton on D and were awful on O. Harbaugh is no longer the coach and I'll wait and see if they are better next year.

All of the other teams you listed we should beat and if Rhule can't beat he needs to be shown the door. Outside of USC, we probably have better talent than all of them. That schedule is ours for the taking next year. You don't have to agree

Haha well the difference is that your logic is based on shoulda woulda coulda and mine is based on, you know, actual results. But hey, keep the hope alive

Eh

Some of your proof is “these teams were better than 6-6 or better than 3-6 in conference play”

Sure but my point remains. Every team I mentioned was better than us. So, to act like they’re all setting up to be easy wins is laughable. Yeah yeah yeah we’ll be improved. I’m sure all their fans are saying the same about their teams. Regardless, my point was more toward his comment that the B1G and Penn State aren’t that great. I hate the B1G as much as you do, but they’ve been pretty impressive in the post season thus far. And Penn State is a top 4 team regardless how they got there.

Oh Contraire. Our losses this year were all on us. We literally handed those games to Illinois, tOSU, UCLA and USC. Indiana however, we completely shit all over ourselves in that one and deserved to lose the way we did. We couldn't get out of our own way at all this year.
