im watching the Illinois game from 2014 when we wore the red and silver alternates. It got me thinking..do we have a contract with adidas that we can only wear each alternate one time? I’ve never seen us wear an alternate more than once. Might seem like a dumb question but if anyone knows the answer to that I’d appreciate it. 16 days GBR!

They’re not my favorite either..the black on the bottom of the helmet threw me off. Looked like everyone was wearing neck rolls. But just made me think about all the ones we’ve worn and I’ve never seen them again.

I would like to see UCLA 2012 uniforms as long as the outcome isn't the same.

Ya adidas really put a lot of effort in creating those..

Change red strips on the pants to black and change the jersey to black and put a black strip on the helmet instead of a red one ..Only thing was different was the numbers on the uni’s.

Was the least favorite for myself didn’t care for black and hardly any RED..

Only mistake in 2014 was those duck tape numbers and stripes.

The ice all whites for Northwestern 2016 were ok with me.

It might be worth a shot to put the new herbie logo on an alternate helmet like this:

No, there is no specific contract. We can wear alternates and throwbacks whenever we want. I think they were only do it once a game because the stupid ass fan base here FREAKS OUT at anything new and exciting. :-D

I totally agree though that the alternates have been very hit and miss. The Northwestern ones ruled, and a close second would be those black and white UCLA ones. The others ranged from "meh" to downright ugly. The good news is, Adidas hired a bunch of the ex-Nike designers a few years back, and the quality of their design output has generally risen dramatically since then. So, I hope we do an alternate this year, and it would be pretty sweet to do it more than once. I'm sure Frost would be in favor of it, coming from friggin' Oregon, and at UCF they wore different uniforms a few times.

And speaking of throwbacks, I would love to see us do 1 futuristic alternate and 1 throwback each season. I loved the throwbacks we wore in...was that 2009? 2010? They were a more plain red, big numbers, and black numbers on white helmets. Those were really neat, because they really did look like an old-timey football uniform.

Those throw backs were from the beginning of the Devaney era 1962-1965...

Love those numbers, it would be great too have those on all alternate uniforms..

Here a few more. Personally I would like to see the little n logo done away with. We use it on nothing but the helmet. Put an updated logo on the helmets.

I believe it’s part of the contract they pay Nebraska for wearing their uniforms... Sure they have some kind of agreement in the contract...
I wonder how long we are in contract with them. Frost and the big dog at Nike are friends. Thinking he will eventually switch to Nike and have a few more alt uniform options like he did at UCF.

I like those. A blackshirt helmet with a smaller traditional N would be legit too. If they haven't already, Frost and Moos need to put a bug in Adidas' ear about designs like this.

If done right, it'll only help national image. Because not only does Frost have the task of turning Nebraska around, he has to make 'Cornhuskers' cool again--just like he and Kelly did at Oregon in making the 'Ducks' cool to appeal to more kids nationally. The best part is, he's a sharp enough guy that I if were a betting man, I'd say he's already on top of this stuff. I would even venture to guess that for one of our games we come out in slick-ass uniforms and surprise everyone. At least, that's what I'd do if I were him.

Yep, That is my thing to. I understand the tradition side of things. We don't have a large recruiting base, we are looked on as old and outdated from the rest of the country, in the middle of nowhere. We need a re image so to speak. If we can update and modernize the uniforms it is a small step, but still a step to get attention.
I have been speculating for awhile about a surprise alt uniform at some point this season. The topic has been very hush hush with everyone from Adidas, to coaches, to staff, to players. Nobody seems to talk about it. Considering we have done one the last 5 or 6 years and one hasn't been announced is a bit odd.

During the coaches' summer tour throughout Nebraska, Chinander told people in Fremont that he hopes they (the whole staff) are here for the rest of their careers.
That would be amazing. Although I don't see walters staying
