Tough loss but I'm confident good things are ahead in years to come. All aboard.
Ok I do applause those that have the mental toughness to always look at the positive in life. From what I have seen you have supported MR since day 1. My question is what leads you to be so positive? Are you just going on cross your finger hope? or have you see things others are missing that leads you to believe beyond doubt MR will succeed? If you have facts to back up you optimism I and others really need something to be positive about.Tough loss but I'm confident good things are ahead in years to come. All aboard.

Good heavens. We've lost VV, Kevin Williams, Kevin Maurice, Freedom, Banderas, Micheal Rose Ivy, then Weber and Newby were playing hurt. We got beat on a last second field goal with ALL those guys out and you can't see a positive? THAT'S OVER HALF THE DEFENSE! On top of that we lost potential starters Avery Moss, LeRoy Alexander, David Santos and the Love kid to transfers and academics. What the hell did you expect this year? I figured we were screwed if we lost ONE LBer or DE this year to injury. Bray and Banker have done a helluva job of trying to plug the holes but you can't play a bunch of walkons and underclassmen and not expect a dropoff. Wisconsin had Iowa beat if not for a fumble inside the 5 yard line. The kids that these coaches are recruiting and sitting well with right now have the potential to come in and make an early impact and that is the only thing that can fix the mess BP left this coaching staff.Ok I do applause those that have the mental toughness to always look at the positive in life. I thought the D played great. They looked exhausted from being on the field forever, thanks to the cheating, gambling, wife beating refs.
The buzz I get from my "Lincoln insider" is that even with the losses, recruiting looks very good. A lot of the kids we are in on are highly ranked guys that will announce late. The positive vibe from Riley and his staff has been a breath of fresh air for the program. The job Bray has done with Newby, Weber and Gifford has been impressive IMO. I don't know of any coach in football that could have dealt with all the injuries we've had on defense. Good heavens, I thought if we would have lost just ONE of Bando, MRI or a DE that we were totally screwed. MRI would make a TREMENDOUS difference right now.Believe it or not, I'm moving in your direction. I stand by all the concerns I've previously stated, but if Riley is willing to work his ass off and do what it takes to win going forward, I can support him.
I feel bad about the toxic culture and crap recruiting efforts he inherited.

I am not denying the horrible injuries. That for sure doesn't help, but injuries don't account for the horrible time management, the number of penalties( both witch have follow MR through is career in coaching. I could be wrong but I want to say MR had more players go in the NFL draft at OSU over a certain period than Nebraska. So he had talent there and still couldn't put together a championship team. I know this has been asked, but why Nebraska? Most schools in the country have similar facilities, spend similar money. Besides our history, what do we offer MR that will turn his coaching career around and win championships?Good heavens. Don't get me wrong, I will support this team and program no matter what. I will watch every heart breaking loss if I have tne can question and still support.

Riley committed ONE penalty and it was justified Saturday. The penalty thing was better Saturday. Riley won a championship in the CFL. He knows how to coach. The EVIDENCE we saw this last fall is that he knows how to recruit and close with kids. IF you can't see what more NU has to offer recruits and how much more support Riley has at NU then I can't help you. The recruiting organization and effort this new staff is putting forth is impressive. We are getting kids to visit and consider us seriously that we had NO shot at with Bo as our coach.I am not denying the horrible injuries. Not only that, but Steve Taylor made a great point on big red reaction. Who have we replaced Abdullah and Gregory with. Is it talent for talent. No disrespect to the players who replaced them, but we haven't replaced talent for talent there, and I'd even throw in Kenny Bell. Plus no DPE this year to speak of, and then there's thisGood heavens. We've lost VV, Kevin Williams, Kevin Maurice, Freedom, Banderas, Micheal Rose Ivy, then Weber and Newby were playing hurt. You're making excuses. We should have 2 more wins at a bare minimum. If we quit throwing the ball so much we really could be undefeated.Good heavens. Why would this staff give you any confidence? They have given me no reason to be confident whatsoever. We have a special teams "guru" pocketing 400k a year in charge of special teams that have been anything but special. GPR is in charge of his friends. Would he be willing to make changes? I seriously doubt it.Tough loss but I'm confident good things are ahead in years to come. All aboard.

"enjoy the doom and gloom" you can't be serious. Why would you think I'm enjoying this? I don't enjoy this one bit.Lots of things I have seen.
We should have another win or two in our pocket but we have seen improvements this year with some extremely difficult circumstances.
You and a couple other guys in this thread can enjoy the doom and gloom six games into Riley's tenure. I'll be the guy rooting everyone on as we work to ink some top level talent out of CA. I wish I could meet the jackass who was sitting next to KJJ at the game so I could beat his ass.

I will not deny recruit seems to be already better. Just not sure why he needs to burn the program to the ground in order to build it back up. lolJust do yourself a favor and take a hard look at the visitor list this past Saturday. Good days are on the way, just let the man bring in his guys....
I'm sorry, but I don't see what you base "We have a good coach" on up to this point? Can you help me understand your logic?Who ever coaches the huskers I am all in. We have a good coach and he will turn it around
