Super punchable face right there
And the other 7 were so sick of our dominance that they were more than happy to do what ever uterus wanted. 11-1. 11-1Why the Big 8 teams acted the way they did is so lame. Only NU seemed to understand what was going on.
That is probably what it was.And the other 7 were so sick of our dominance that they were more than happy to do what ever uterus wanted. 11-1. 11-1
We can all thank TO for the foresight to get us out of that crap hole. It looks like a $100M/year move. I can't wait to see TexASS it handed to them every week in the SEC.
I don't disagree with you, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen. Obviously the top SEC teams will give Texas trouble, but like every other league it's getting watered down. Plus, now that they're in the SEC they'll be even more attractive to top 100 recruits, not that they've had any issues in that department. But yeah, I hope they're miserable in the SEC.We can all thank TO for the foresight to get us out of that crap hole. It looks like a $100M/year move. Too bad the article didn't elaborate on how Nebraska leveraged Title 48 to the benefit of the athletes...in addition to the team and school. I wonder if Osborne would have stayed a few more years had the program not gotten violated by TU...
Probably not. Job was taking a toll on his healthToo bad the article didn't elaborate on how Nebraska leveraged Title 48 to the benefit of the athletes...in addition to the team and school. I wonder if Osborne would have stayed a few more years had the program not gotten violated by TU...
Exactly. Pure greed and arrogance. That's what Texass is all about. Whorns down. All day. Every day.
Not that I like it, but Texas has clearly demonstrated in their home/home series with Bama over the past 2 years that they all plenty capable of competing in the top echelon of the SEC.I don't disagree with you, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen. This is 100% why I don't get why some people here wistfully reminisce about the Big 12. They absolutely hated Nebraska in that conference. And the other 7 were so sick of our dominance that they were more than happy to do what ever uterus wanted. 11-1. 11-1
And its not just limited to football. Our most decorated athletic program in recent history, women's VB, is 5-12 against UT over the past 20 years.I had a much bigger problem with the way we invented new ways to choke against Texas and went 1-8 against them than the school itself. I suspect if that record was reversed we wouldn't give a crap about their influence on the Big 12.
Not sure who I’m more frustrated with - Texas or the 7 other Big 8 schools who rolled over for Texas. What's ironic is the big 12 schools whining now. Too bad none of the original big 8 schools that are left didn't have the guts to agree with NU. K state benefited a lot by elimination of prop 48. They used their massive juco system as their farm system
the Alabama teams they played weren't the Alabama teams of old.Not that I like it, but Texas has clearly demonstrated in their home/home series with Bama over the past 2 years that they all plenty capable of competing in the top echelon of the SEC.
Actually we are 11-14And its not just limited to football. Our most decorated athletic program in recent history, women's VB, is 5-12 against UT over the past 20 years.
IIRC, Nebraska and Texas both benefitted from unequal revenue sharing. Guessing that wasn’t something the other B12 schools were too crazy about.Too bad the article didn't elaborate on how Nebraska leveraged Title 48 to the benefit of the athletes...in addition to the team and school. I wonder if Osborne would have stayed a few more years had the program not gotten violated by TU...
Last I checked the Big 12 was still there. Can Texas pull of the trifecta and destroy three conferences ? Never say never
I don't hate Texas. But they were awful conference partners. You're a good poster.Last I checked the Big 12 was still there.
In name only.Last I checked the Big 12 was still there.
I think some of the criticism against us was unfounded but some of it was fair. The attempted move to the pac-12 and leaving out Nebraska was a shitty move to that I definitely agree.I don't hate Texas. But they were awful conference partners. You're a good poster.
Could you rewind to July 1, 2001 instead...and just never have signed up here, on a Husker site?I think some of the criticism against us was unfounded but some of it was fair. The attempted move to the pac-12 and leaving out Nebraska was a shitty move to that I definitely agree.
Then again I hated dodds and thought he was an arrogant prick. I'm so happy to have a more grounded athletic director. That's the best thing that could have happened to us.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter now that Nil is a thing. You can buy a good team regardless of your conference and that's not good for college football. I just want to rewind about 30 years and go back to the old New Year's Day bowl system. This is not better in my opinion
Fair enough but realignment was always going to happen. Eventually the halves would have separated from the have nots. It's ugly the way it all happened but I think it was just a matter of time.In name only.
Could you rewind to July 1, 2001 instead...and just never have signed up here, on a Husker site?
Thanks!
No need to reply, we will just all pretend you never signed up.
That troll running his mouth again? Lol I put him on ignore a long time ago. That's hilarious. He could always put me on ignore but toxic people will never pass up the chance to be toxic.Says the guy who hasn’t even reached a year on this site.
Unequal revenue sharing probably doomed that conference from the very beginning. The four schools pushing for it didn't want to share and that was never going to be a good arrangement long-term. This is all bringing back memories of how much I hated deloss doddsIIRC, Nebraska and Texas both benefitted from unequal revenue sharing. Guessing that wasn’t something the other B12 schools were too crazy about.
No you didn't, that is why you see and respond. Like a good boy. That troll running his mouth again? Lol I put him on ignore a long time ago. That's hilarious. He could always put me on ignore but toxic people will never pass up the chance to be toxic.
ShhhhhSays the guy who hasn’t even reached a year on this site.
Not that I disagree about our actions at that time but wasn't it also a demonstration of greed on Nebraska's part to also push for unequal revenue sharing?Exactly. Pure greed and arrogance. That's what Texass is all about. Whorns down. All day. Every day.
Unjoin. Not that I disagree about our actions at that time but wasn't it also a demonstration of greed on Nebraska's part to also push for unequal revenue sharing?
Not that I'm comparing your overall actions with ours. We were clearly the worst bad actor in that conference. **** deloss dodds
