Adrian Martinez Yard Sale

Heard on the radio- there is a huge crowd there. They had to institute a three item limit on purchases. The first guy in line bought the helmet. These Husker fans are crazy. It sounds like AM should have doubled his prices.

Probably the same sad dudes who run over little kids and snatch up everything for themselves at Fan Day

Under Osborne, Solich, or even Pelini, I think AMart would have been a very successful QB here. Not much different in my view from TMart, Steve Taylor, or Tommy Armstrong. An athletic kid with a decent enough arm who could make great plays followed by boneheaded plays. But he would have been surrounded by better coaches and better talent in those eras. So I think he would have done okay. He had the misfortune of playing under one of the worst, if not THE worst, coach in modern Husker history. I think even Mike Riley was a better coach than Frost.

Best of luck to AMart. He played injured quite often while here and showed himself to be a true team player and a competitor. He just did not win enough games.
The team prolly would’ve won more games if he was under a different staff, but we watched his fumbles and picks and poor decisions when it mattered most…..over and over. Coaching prolly can’t totally fix that or someone like Jeff George would be in the hall of fame. Posting his garage sale stuff is look at me nonsense. Donate it, quietly give to charity. Whatever. GBR

Between Amart and Frost, they had the uncanny ability to find ways to lose games. Worst QB and worst coach ever.

He also changed schools/coaching staff and had a really good senior season...showing everyone in the process that he could play the position, and flourish, under a real coach. I don't remember him going scorched earth on his way out either. I don't have a problem with the guy. Ain't giving him any money for his stuff either, but he seemed to handle everything with class.
I am glad he was at Nebraska, trying to carry a program on the field and some of its fans living life through the players actions. He was under constant duress and was not a perfect quarterback. He finished at KSU and performed well when suppled with a better supporting class and definitely coaching staff. He carried himself with class and maturity, beyond what some Nebraska fans are capable of. Good luck and health the rest of your life.

Sounds like you were first in line.

Obviously the turnovers were a back breaker - I feel like the hate for someone who battled through injuries and worked their butt off while always front facing the media to take the bullets is a little undeserving. I agree with many that I put the blame solely on our trainwreck of a coach for the lack of W’s - not 2AM.

I agree, give the stuff to be auctioned off to a charity. Even if Adrian announces this fine. On a side note , Marisa the future MRS. looks good as usual.

This is possibly the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time.... News coverage of a garage sale.. Two page post about said garage sale... Still talking about Adrian Martinez..

I love the internet

Everybody that showed up should have donated that money to the NIL initiative for future athletes. Not someone that transferred out.

Nebraska's record with Bobby Reynolds at RB is 13-14-2. Football is a team sport, Adrian isn't 100% responsible for the team's record while he was here. Great athlete, great person. Played banged up ALL the time because we had just about the worst lines in school history while he was here. He doesn't deserve the derision from some on this board.

Most of the people who showed up are collectors. They want a piece of Husker history, they want to meet Adrian. Many of them probably already donate to UNL. And it's hard to blame him for transferring to a school with a shot at a bowl game and a coach that wouldn't put him out there with a broken jaw. Not to mention a school where he could see his girlfriend every day.

What does he deserve? Just so we know what we can do or say to him
What personally did he do to deserve such hate. SF made him the one and only, SF put him on the field when he shouldn't be. It wasn't like AM said I'm going in and this is what we're doing. Hell, AM was running for his life 9 times out of 10 the way the line let defender go by. I bet if Rhule were the coach, AM would have looked a hell of a lot better and most would be praising him.

I stand by what I say, the kid did the best he could with what he was given.

That QB Callahan brought in from I believe Arizona.

As for the loses, there were quite a few on the team contributing to the loses.

I wonder if he legitimately doesn't understand that most Husker fans want to forget the entire era when he was the QB. Never a winning season, and this dude literally gave games away with bad decisions at crucial moments.

The proceeds are going to help him start up Am's grill and BarYyou'll never be served by the same waitress twice and the food will be iconnconsistent.Yes, there will be a lot of turnover
