A question for those who played the game at the college level

I was reading a Peach Bowl prediction story and the writer mentioned a quote from a UCF player about Auburn not being able to handle UCF speed. The writer cited this "bulletin board" quote as additional motivation for Auburn.

My question is: Is the bulletin board story line legitimate or not? I've read it again and again. Is it real or fantasy?
