It's a drastic improvement on 5 wins, no? I'd be excited about the future if I was a Husker fan. Your well-earned brand has you still outrecruiting the dean of Big Ten head coaches. We're obviously beatable and Wisconsin is obviously beatable. Apparently, Michigan is beatable. Don't ask us about Ohio State.

So he missed by 42 points; and on who won. So he thrives on this - is he a fan or just... I would say its kind of funny what has happened with Iowa
( who I have admired at times ); wanting to fire their coach and waiting for the buy out to pay down, having a good season and signing on for ten more with 45 million and surely bonuses.

Then my bad; just went directly off another post and didn't see a denial in their further posts. We should know posters can make comments we really like ( and other posts not so much ) - and I defended Bo as the head coach as much as I could; but not the behavior - So I was unrealistic, and that means wrong about the long term, but wasn't stomped . Imo, because my attitude was that as a fan of the program . Perhaps sometimes we should back off emotional posts imo. Then again; there are trolling episodes, and when top posters call them out, probably a good chance they will moderate their behavior. GBR

I think this is the best post in this thread. I agree with this 100%. It is a shame Tommy is injured because I think beating Iowa is very important right now for the momentum of our program.

Nor do I think the poster is really comparing Riley and Pelini in terms of "maybe we should have kept Pelini if this is all Riley can do". Pelini had to go. Period. And most of us support coach Riley 1000%. But in terms of national perception, recruiting, team morale, momentum, regional dominance etc... beating Iowa is key.

I like to jest because there were a lot of fans of the previous coach. I personally am very pleased that Nebraska has won 9 games and there are no players or staff members out there pontificating about the glory of 9 wins.

There is a shot at the most wins for the program since 2001 and this is one of the most talent deficient NU rosters in two decades if not the most depleted. Look at the QB depth chart...a microcosm of the issues on the roster.

Riley doesn't deserve a lifetime contract or anything like that. He and his staff have earned the opportunity to recruit and graduate a full class of guys before we ever worry about sharpening our pitchforks.
