Good grief, if I had known how defensive so many people on here would get about me sharing a harmless piece of information I never would have posted it, I'll never make that mistake again. I already said nobody knows what will happen but TL.
Settle down, umgrad, it's not just that you posted it. It's that you also prognosticated bad news for the huskers. If you didn't anticipate a response from that then that's on you, not us.
It should have been expected, and something tells me you got exactly what you were looking for.

We are going to have make Coach DUB the highest paid WR coach in the nation (rightfully so ) , heck throw in a title as well . People /Teams both college and pro will be making some serious overtures for his services in the very near future . Ironically the biggest recruit that we landed that may retain Coach Williams services here for a while was his son .

This is what the brouhaha is about. Later you can say only TL knows, but many may not see that after seeing your initial post. The outcry is all about the initial post.

Like I said, now that I know that for many this is more accurately described as a "safe space" than a message board, I will refrain these horrible "prognostications" of doom in the future.
This is Timnsun's normal MO, if you don't just pump sunshine then nothing you post is worth it. It got to the point for me that I wanted to fight people on this board. Took my few month punishment for it and realized I hated that part of the board. I really just missed talking husker football. So I am not responding to people that believe "negative" news should be kept in the dark and I no longer wish to piss them off. I just don't care what they do. Their too bias to believe in anything they post as truth. And I get it, there's a ton of sensitive people on this board that have the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality and that only good news is worth posting. It's just not the way it works in the real world. I wish it did, but it just does not.
That being said, I think the fact that Martell committing to tOSU is extremely important to Lindsey's recruiting and I am glad the poster brought it up. Just like it was important for us to land KJJ for TG's recruiting. The bottom line is, it helps to have a guy you know recruiting you. I hope like hell Lindsey's s husker. But Martell stated he is confident that Lindsey will commit to the luckeyes. And who really knows. Love to have him but if not, like other say, NEXT.

Good enough to have 7 catches for 34 yards at Fresno State (someone can correct my stats). The implication is not how good he is at football, it's that he will be on the roster for at least a couple more years. Dad stays to coach son independent of son's football ability.

As a fellow wolverine I've taken my share of unfair criticism for just being an outsider on this board. However, it hasn't been from timnsum and I've actually seen him defend outsiders when he thinks an attack against them is unwarranted. I just read what he said to you and aside from an arguable misuse of the word "prognostication" I agree with his point. You brought some news to this board, about something that was not a positive for NU, and people reacted to it...did you expect that not to happen?
Nothing (imo) wrong with bringing the news and while you could have maybe said it a bit differently I really didn't see a major issue with how you delivered it. But as timnsum pointed out a reaction is expected and it's not likely going to be "thank you mr. outside poster for such lovely news." Most of the reaction seemed pretty tame to me and at worse a tiny bit defensive. However, the most defensive part seems to be your reaction to the reaction. This is a message board and one in which we are not the majority. Have a thicker skin and just roll with the punches (and before someone points it out...I need to take my own advice on that sometimes).
I think he was hurt after the first or second game. He was a 5.7 3-star recruit with some pretty good offers, but a WR is going to have to be awful good to get on the field for us in the future.

My greater point was that when you come here and post what you did in your initial post, don't be surprised when you get a reaction.
And regarding spinner4, we do have a bit of a history. I don't attack negativity every where I see it. Look at the board and you will see that there is plenty of negativity that I ignore.
What I do go after is the posters who have nothing but negative stuff to say, and sorry, but that fits spinner pretty well. spinner, if I'm wrong, find me your 5 most recent positive posts about the huskers.
I'm guessing I won't be seeing anything from you on that... Hard to post what isn't there.
Lindsey and Tate are great friends, almost like brothers - many times friends/brothers want to hang out together and possibly go to the same school/play for the same team - Tate just committed to OSU, thus - it wouldn't be surprising if his friend/brother Lindsey wants to go to the same school.
One final thing I'll say for umgrad... I really had no problem with what you posted initially. I responded to that post but nothing was contentious either way.

I can understand that, but I have not seen or heard anywhere that Lindsey has stated he is looking to go to the same school at Tate. I'm sure it will be part of his final decision, but it is really anyone's guess how much it will affect the school he chooses.
I can't even begin to count how many package deals weren't.
NU is batting far above average in that "friend of a brother of a cousin of an acquaintance" game this year, at least in the SoCal area. Its a nice change.
