Looks good to me, what about sending a video to the university?

Does he pheasant hunt? Throw a couple pheasant feathers in the box with a video and contact information...

What's his 40 time, or for that matter his 10 yard time? Does he have a burst of speed? Lateral movement too?

Does he have good foot movement? Does he wrestle or play basketball?

Is he a good student? Is he balanced in life?

The coaches want to know.

What do you think? Has the size and drive...

This is my nephew. They haven't promoted his film, or have done much with recruiting efforts. I thought he might be a diamond in the rough, with good potential. Great kid. Take a look...any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Husker Nation...GBR!

Good run blocker, his pass blocking is his weakness, feet during a change of direction are awkward. Has potential though!

Might be good walkon candidate if he needs some work, like the size.

Not what you want to hear
BUT
If you are that big and you are in HS- and have any ability whatsoever- they will find you- doesnt matter what his HS coach did

yes- HS coaches can certainly help AND torpedo a bit- but in todays day and age- most kids get a look. LOTS of film gets watched- where they are looking at someone else- and when they see a big kid- they stop and take a good look to see if he may even be a project. Minnesota isnt a hotbed- but SDSU, USD, NDSU, MSU and Minny look pretty hard there.

Had a kid I coached in Omaha who I thought was just a head above average- but was very big was kinda stiff and I thought just above average feet. Didnt get a bunch of honors- BUT Ohio snatched him up.

BUT back in Solichs era a buddy of mine from Texas was visiting me - he took a VHS tape of his nephew to the coaches offices and just walked in. One of the coaches IIRC- spent some time with him and got him a tour of the facilities- was treated very well. His nephew was very raw and didnt get a call. So I guess you can send it, they may take a peek, but dont get your hopes up.

Dont act like you know crap. If he is good, he will ne recruited

You guys... uh... realize they don't really mail tapes in a cardboard box anymore? Although, that would be kind of hilarious. Make a VHS tape of your kid and mail it to "Coach Scott Frost" at the football offices. I realized at Christmas this year when my family wanted to watch the Home Alone DVD that I hadn't had a DVD player plugged in at my house for over a year. I had to go looking for it.

I would tend to agree. In today's times seems like everyone is somehow interconnected. When you have a 6'8 highschool kid, my guess is many top coaches or at least their assistants have took notice and have at min looked at a few minutes of tape. If he hasn't seen much interest guessing there is a reason.
I remember back when I was in highschool (20 years ago) we had a 6'8 WR. Our town has 800 people and even back then he had Neb, MN, Iowa, Kansas, ect. assistants stopping by a few practices. He never ended up getting any offers but they knew about him.
