2ND HALF GAME THREAD!

Foley should have been fired 6 weeks ago. He is awful at his job and everyone knows it. The fact the Rhule didn’t can him his another red flag in his judgement.
Yeah he’s gotta be done. Showed some improvement but not when it mattered. Goodbye

That missed field goal was a killer. IF you want to pick one play it was either that or the 3 missed tackles on the 76 yard screen play. Low snap…..again. Screwed up the timing.
Neyor letting a perfectly place pass go right through his hands.
Bad snap on a field goal.
Total botch of a punt. They looked totally clueless.
Dylan missed at least 3 wide open receivers. He needs to work on this in the off season.

When the same things continue to happen throughout the season, it's time to look at the coaches/coaching. IF DH gets the OC job, I hope we see a new special teams and receivers coach.

And yet firing Foley wouldn’t have changed the special teams blunders. It’s different guys screwing up…. The new long snapper has been solid for weeks. The punt screw up was guys 2 guys thinking we had touched the ball. What else? A shanked punt. Does a different special team coordinator prevent that? I think Foley will pay the price but it’s on the players to make plays they’ve been doing since middle school.

I mean, they flirted with disaster all night fielding punts which was a coaching decision. The fact they screwed up on a punt return is hardly surprising given all that. Up 10-0 midway through 3rd quarter, they'd have been better off not even trying to field a punt and not risking a chance to do what they do best - screw up.

Botched snap. Botched punt. Missed tackles. Dropped pass. None of those 4 plays are on the coaches. We make one of those plays and we win.
And yet we didn’t. So the players are the only ones accountable? Botched snap. Special teams. Botched punt. Special teams. And yet Foley is coaching these units. That have struggled all year long. Rhule hired Foley and keeps him on staff. Yes once again. Rhule is accountable. This loss was inexcusable

Foley will probably pay the price but the players have to make the plays. I watch WAY too much football and I see the same miscues on just about every NFL and college team….except Iowa. They have a DC and head coach who have been there for decades.

More excuses for the coaches. Pathetic Rhule is accountable for this program.

No excuses. When I played if I had missed that tackle, dropped a pass, fumbled the ball etc….i never blamed my coach. Of course I never missed a tackle or fumbled the ball on my 102 carries my senior year. And they never threw me a pass soooo 😉. They had our guys in position to win the game and they pissed it down their legs.

People will say it’s too early, but I don’t think he has the IT factor. He doesn’t have the killer instinct.
Correct. Even Illinois the game that was close and he was humming he still crumbled in ot. And yes of course freshman mistakes. But a winner refuses to lose that man close games without doing everything.

You never missed a tackle?
