Let's hear them.

hot take: Jaxson Dart will be the best QB of this class. I don't have facts to back this up, just a feeling.

lukewarm take: Abdul Carter will be the best player from this draft when we look back in 3 years.

freezing cold take: Ty Robinson will be a steal for whoever picks him up, and will have a career similar to that of Derek Wolfe.

Cam Ward will be a great QB. He's really done exceptional everywhere he went.

The Bills will whiff on the first round pick. It's what they do minus Josh Allen.

Hot take- Shadier Sanders will fall to the bottom third of the draft before Cleveland trades up to draft him. Shadier will be reunited with Browns 1st round choice, WR Travis Hunter. They will be able to resume their routine of yelling at each other on the field. A great fit for the Browns.

Hot take- Colorado, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State will have two players drafted before the first Nebraska pick comes off the board. North Dakota State, Iowa and Minnesota will have one.

OP said "hot takes" not "dumb takes" 😂

Which is a dumb take? You must not know much about the NFL draft.

If you think Shedeur is falling to the bottom third of the draft, that’s 172nd or lower, that’s 5th round or lower, then you must not know much about football at all. Let alone the draft.

Obviously I meant the bottom third of the 1st round is what I meant to say. So sorry I caused confusion.

Ah gotcha. With all the anti all things Sanders posters on here, I thought you meant what you typed, which was bottom third of the draft. After clarification, yeah your predictions might be right.

I think this is a weak draft overall and I wouldn't be surprised to see the teams with the highest picks trade down. Ward is the best QB in this draft but in many drafts he would be the third QB taken. The Browns would be better off helping Deshaun Watson restore himself and trading down to deepen their draft inventory than take Sanders, who will be a headache with his dad's meddling.

Where would Sanders have been drafted if he was in last year's class? Probably 4th-6th. He isn't very mobile, has a meddling, opinionated dad, and ticks off his teammates by throwing them under the bus. That pass that Tommi Hill picked off was a stupid throw for a guy in his 5th year and ended the game in the first quarter.

Nobody is going to trade up for any of this years QB's, I wouldn't think. I struggle to think of a QB class this lowly regarded in recent memory.

Well maybe I'm mistaken on this, but my definition of "hot take" is just to shoot my mouth off about something that I think COULD happen. I wouldn't personally bet on Sanders falling too far. If Ward goes #1 overall like Vegas thinks he will, the Browns could stay at #2 and just draft Sanders there. That team signed Watson to that horrible contract and still needs a QB. Sanders, on a rookie deal, could be their guy. So we shall see! As a Steelers fan, I'm hoping that the Browns long line of QB f-ups gets continued with Sanders-- I don't think he's gonna be a good pro.

I think this draft is pretty good, but it depends on how one classifies what makes a draft good. The QB class is weak and the top 10-15 overall are not rated as high so the draft is weak in that regard. But if a team needs a RB, TE, DT and Edge rusher, they are loving this draft. They say there will be starting caliber players at all of those positions available late or even go undrafted. Another interesting aspect of the draft is the Day 2 depth-- a lot of guys who could go late 1st that others think is a 4th round talent and vice versa. It's gonna be fun.

To your point that teams will want to trade down, I think you are spot on there. It's gonna depend how badly they want to trade down though because the picks they get in return probably won't be quite as good of a haul as it's been in the past.

Steelers fan here. Not sure that you are that far off! They are trying to build up both sides of the line.

Time for DL this year hopefully. Guy out of Oregon is my wish. Name slips my mind right now.

Actually have little faith in OL regardless who they pick. Time for that OL to beat it imo. Not an Arthur Smith fan either tbh. Did I say I'm not too high on Tomlin either? Lol ..long off-season.

Shiiiid I DO! Steelers fan here. Just a couple years back we drafted Kenny Pickett as the first QB in the draft in the 20's. He was the highest rated one lol.

I think he was a scapegoat. IMO they gave up too soon on him. I think he's going to end up being one of those guys that gets recycled and has success somewhere. The Steelers O line was horrendous when he was there.

Until the OL actually becomes anything better than average, the Steelers will never be a serious threat to anything other than Tomlin’s winning record streak.

I don't think he was a scapegoat. I do think he might end up being JAG somewhere though. Imo he was over drafted. If he had been a 3rd rounder I think we would've looked at him differently. That said After he struggled horribly through his second year he gets hurt and Mason Rudolph replaces him with the same OL and looks twice as good. So I can't place blame on the OL for his struggles. Once Steelers brought in Fields to compete with him he asked to be traded. So I'm not sure they "gave up" on him as much as he didn't wanna compete for the job. So once that happens they move on and bring Russ in as well. I hope Pickett does well but I think he is a career backup. For that matter I think Fields will be the same, as is Rudolph probably. Steelers gonna have to get a legit QB or nothing changes.

Harmon is the name of the DT out of Oregon. Heard him compared to Cam Heyward. They share a lot of similarities. If the Steelers want to stay the course with the Andy Weidl plan of dominating both sides of the line of scrimmage, they need to draft a stud DT high in the draft. If someone highly ranked from another position falls to them, it could get interesting. Maybe they trade back?

I'm hoping that the Steelers trade George Pickens. I don't think it's gonna go well with GP this year and he'll walk next year anyway. I'm hoping that we can get a couple picks for him and then sign Diggs or Keenan Allen for a year to replace him.

I'm not a fan of Arthur Smith although at least he's a competent OC compared to Matt Canada. Next year's line and all of the RBs should be able to run that outside zone & screen game better. But we gotta find a QB. Can Mason Rudolph do the job for at least one year?

I'm generally always in favor of trade back when you have multiple needs like we do. Especially since you gave up a second in the Metcalf trade. DL is super deep this year. I actually think we double dip and could actually see Ty in the 4th maybe. I know we like him.

Hard to pass on a stud DT like Harmon. Weidel has the right plan not sure about the right people though. But I'm guessing a few of those jobs are on the line offensively.

I think they are gonna run it back with Pickens and then take the comp pick for him the following year which I THINK will be a third. Unless someone offers a second or more I don't see them moving him. Damn shame he's a head case because he might be the most talented dude in the league. Just a box of rocks for a brain.

Hoping for more speed in the backfield. Liked Najee but didn't love him. We need a HR hitter. Mason is fine if you can protect him. If not he will be as bad as it gets as an NFL starting QB in afraid. He's not very mobile to say the least.

Still not sure how I feel about Rogers who I still imagine will be the guy. But in a vacuum I think he's better than anyone we have had since prime Ben. That said is the headache worth it with him... Tough decisions.

Most drafts are heavily weighted on the quality at QB, WR, DE, and OT, because those are the most impactful positions in the NFL. Jeantty is a great RB, but that position has been of diminished value in the pass-heavy league for 20 years. And the career longevity for RBs just isn't significant. I do think there is some all-around depth in this draft and players like Robinson are going to be relative steals in the 3rdish rounds. Ward would have been the 3rd-5th best QB compared to last year's class, and I think it would be foolish to bet the house on a guy like Sanders. I wouldnt be surprised to see three or four trade downs before the first player comes off the board.
